The coffee shop has a very aesthetic appearance, and has you feeling the “French influenced” Vietnamese-Styled culture. The coffee here is absolutely amazing. I got the Vietnamese Iced Coffee (Cafe Sua Da) and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely one of the best Vietnamese Iced Coffees I’ve ever had.
This placed was packed, but the wait was not long and the service and quality of the drinks is amazing. Highly recommend for coffee lovers!
Now living in the U.S., I finally had the chance to experience a Trung Nguyên Legend café in person, this time in Westminster. I ordered the signature Legend Coffee and Vietnamese milk coffee — both priced higher than typical fast-serve coffee options, which I expected from this premium brand.
The flavor was bold and unmistakably strong. I brew Vietnamese coffee at home every day using a traditional phin filter with beans imported from small-town producers back in Vietnam, so I’m used to this style. But this blend from Trung Nguyên was noticeably more intense, with a richer bitterness and a thicker mouthfeel — almost nostalgic.
It brought back vivid memories of old rituals: a roadside black coffee, a cigarette in hand, and a quiet morning. I’ve quit smoking for years, but this cup almost made me crave that pairing again. That says something about how powerfully it connects to the cultural roots of Vietnamese coffee habits.
Experience-wise, I’d say the shop leans more modern and fast-casual than what I imagined from the original Trung Nguyên cafés. Maybe it’s the smaller footprint, or the contemporary design — it didn’t quite capture the slower, contemplative vibe I associate with the brand back in Vietnam. There, the shops were large, atmospheric, and set up for people to sit for hours. This one felt more like a stylish coffee stop than a place to linger long.
That said, it was still a meaningful experience — especially for anyone familiar with Trung Nguyên’s legacy. It delivers on quality and cultural flavor, even if the U.S. version feels a bit more streamlined for modern convenience.
The vibe is chic. Outdoor seating is available.
Their Legend Coffee (aka coffee with condense milk, $9.50) was honestly impressive, smooth, rich, and with a natural sweetness that lingers after each sip. The whole experience was on point too! The staff served it beautifully plated, completed with a complimentary biscuit and a gorgeous postcard. If you’re looking for something classic, their Vietnamese Coffee ($5.50) is also a solid pick. Next time, I’m definitely coming back to try their Vietnamese Egg Coffee!
A Few Tips:
• Closes early at 5:00 PM, so plan your visit accordingly.
• Parking in front fills up fast, and your best bet is to park behind the 7-Eleven in the plaza where there’s more space.

This isn’t your sweet, fluffy boba drink. This is Vietnamese coffee the way it’s supposed to be — roasted dark, layered with energy, and just the right kick of legacy. The phin coffee here reminds you what real drip is. Their egg coffee? Smooth, creamy, but still carries that weight underneath.
It’s one of the oldest and most respected names in the Vietnamese coffee world — and you can taste why. You don’t just sip it. You feel it.
Come for the strength. Stay for the silence between sips.
A legend for a reason.
2. The spot has busy casual vibes with a crowded interior!
3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It was ready in 5 mins!
Note: There is a restroom available for customers!

Glad they now have ‘Egg Cream Coffee’ as a hot drink where you can really savor the taste vs. the iced coffee version (it’s still good but great to have a hot drink option). Sweetness level can be adjusted upon request.
Pandan Milk Tea with Lotus seeds (the only tea drink on the menu) was tasty (ordered 50% less sweet – that’s the lowest sweetness level they can go… ). Great for anyone who are non-coffee drinker.
Coconut Iced Coffee was ok. Quite a faint coconut taste in the drink. It basically felt like a coconut scented iced latte. I recommend either ‘Triple Coco Coffee Ice blended’ drink over at ‘Kei Coffee House’ (off on Brookhurst – Westminster location) or Young Coconut Blended Coffee over at ‘ViLand Coffee’ (Bolsa Avenue – Westminster location) where you can really taste actual coconut meat in the coffee drinks ☺️
The Legend Coffee was my favorite—it’s bold and strong, just the way I like it. They serve condensed milk on the side, so you can adjust the sweetness to your taste. My only wish is that they’d give you a bit more coffee because it’s that good!
The ube waffles were phenomenal—perfectly crispy on the outside with a soft, mochi-like texture inside. A must-try!
My daughter ordered the avocado smoothie, which was smooth and creamy but not sweet, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a sweeter drink.
My wife had the lemongrass iced tea (I believe), and it was incredibly refreshing and light.
The cafe does get busy, so it can feel crowded inside, but they keep the space clean and tidy despite the rush. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend checking them out!
