A hidden gem!! In an old gas station (usually the best BBQ!) and serving up some of the freshest, yummiest Southwestern/American food. The Tostada was crunchy and delish as well as the Frito Pie. And the fried Cherry Pie !!! Worth the effort to find for a great lunch!

Trujillo’s is THE BEST BURGER IN TOWN! They hand pat their patties from good quality ground beef. Perfectly seasoned with a good number of sides (ribbon fries are amazing). Also – if anything is wrong they will make it right. I once ordered chicken fried stake and got brown gravy (I hate) when expecting white gravy. Called to complain and explain. They gave a refund and a completely meal. I’ve also came once a week for the best burger in town, and usually twice a week for their great Tuesday taco meal. Saying they knew me. Tonight I got a regular burger and tots and told the owner I was moving soon. He offered me a free meal for being a loyal consistent customer. They are great people with great food. Please visit them. You won’t be disappointed!

We tried the chicken fried steak, buffalo chicken sandwich, chimichanga and a cranberry walnut salad.
Food was fresh and tasted great. The service was fast and friendly and the huge awning outside made for great shade. The inside was very hot so the outdoor seating and shade was a huge plus!
Of everything we tried, the buffalo chicken sandwich was the best!
The fried pies are huge, so if you order one, have a friend or two to help!

We had Quesadillas with excellent pork, a 1/3 lb burger, and a grilled cheese sandwich.
The food was excellent and fresh, and my only hold back would be that the home made fries were undercooked.
I very much enjoyed the organic hibiscus tea as well.

I gad a 1/2 lb burger, no bun. It was probably the best, most tender, most flavorful burger I’ve ever eaten anywhere! It was tender but crispy on the outside.
The usual trappings were merely so-so, but the beef itself was the bomb.

This place was so wonderful. The staff is so friendly, the food took a bit longer since it was a busy lunch hour and the burger special on Wednesdays gets busy but it is well worth the wait. Trust me on that, the food was REAL food. Real fries and spiral chips, soft fresh buns and a real meat patty not a frozen patty like I’m used to getting. The atmosphere was super cute too, kinda diner like but modern and updated and clean. Highly recommend. What really got me was the sign at the register when I walked in, I’m a firm believer in supporting your community and this is exactly what they do. Seems like they give a lot back to our community which if you live here in Taos, you know we desperately need. Kudos to Trujillos.

I have to admit, I wasn’t sure we were even entering a dinner. It looks like it’s in an old gas station next to a car wash that’s been converted, but sometimes these small places are the best. Clearly, the city loves this place as it was hopping, which is always a good sign.
We were greeted by the very friendly man behind the register, who I assume is the owner. He could tell we were first-timers as we stared at the menu. He politely recommended the taquitos saying people from California say it is better than what they have. We tried an order of 6: 3 chicken, 3 beef. All were terrific, and the salsa was fresh and delicious.
We were drawn by the beautiful drinks, the Butterfly Pea lemonade with fresh mint, and a hibiscus flower. It was as good as it looked and very refreshing.
My wife and I both tried the “build your own burritos” with pulled pork, beans, and cheese. I had mine fried and smothered with green sauce, my wife tried hers not fried with red sauce. The red was very mild, and the green had a flavorful kick to it. I saw a half and half, which I think would be great. But we both loved the very filling burritos.
My older son tried the burger with cheese and hand cut fries and loved it.
My younger daughter had the kids cheese quesadilla with the spiral cut potatoes, which were something between fries and chips. These were amazing, and had I known they were that good, I’d have gotten a whole plate to myself.
Everyone had a smile on their face, those who worked there and all the customers. One of them, eating the taco Tuesday special, and clearly within earshot of the owner, jokingly told me to go to the restaurant two streets down as they have better food. I asked him if it’s so good then why are you eating here? He said they pay him to eat there. The owner laughed.
I highly recommend swinging by and trying Trujillo’s Diner. I don’t think there’s a bad thing on the menu, and everything tastes fresh and delicious. And you just can’t beat the friendly service.

Best burger I’ve had in so long. I was a little confused on the location but I’m so happy I stopped. Regular fries and sweet potato fries were great too! Will return and tell others about it.

We love this place! We’re from out of town but will always stop in when we’re in the area. The food is amazing and flavorful and the staff is so nice and helpful. The pies are just the right amount of sweet and I love the butterfly tea drink.
