If you are looking for great barbecue without the long lines or high prices of famous tourist spots, I highly recommend True Texas BBQ located inside the HEB on 51st Street. Since it operates in a food hall style, the prices are very budget-friendly, and a huge plus is that you don’t have to worry about tipping!
My absolute favorite thing to order here is the Loaded Baked Potato. It is simple, hearty, and consistently delicious! The meat is tender, and the portions are generous. It’s the perfect spot for a quick, high-quality meal while you’re out doing your grocery shopping. The seating area is clean and convenient. This place is great. With 5 different “restaurants”, everyone in your group can find the perfect satisfying meal, and still sit together at the bar. You can find something to fill every dietary need, as well. For example, my uncle needed a meal that was low in sodium, another guest wanted smoked turkey plate, and I wanted a cobb salad. What a nice experience.

I haven’t eaten at this one yet, but if it is like the ones that I’ve been to from other locations, like the one over in Hancock center, it should be reasonably good. Unfortunately, this is not a very big restaurant unlike the Hancock location, which is essentially a full-size barbecue restaurant. This one is just a walk up window With some shared seating for the food court.

If there is an heb couping y’all should make it more usable. We paid over $60 but were denied free pudding coupon lol. Heb should at least let the customers use the coupons that are offered. Once the employees hear what happened, I feel like they could have been nice and just gave us the pudding. We only had to spend 15 for the coupon but we spent 60. I work in food industry and I would have definitely just given the customer the $3 pudding lol.

Hi I went to true Texas BBQ at mueller a few weeks back and I had a great experience with the heb employees working in the food court, I believe one of their names was Alyssa or maybe Ashley, however she and her associates gave me great service, was extremely helpful, and I recommend going there for some great Texas Barbecue for a reasonable price. We had a little of everything. Bbq and Japanese food. Daniella made us the Frescaloma drink at the Main Street bar in HEB.
Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed & family friendly. We ate at the bar to watch the football game. Travis at the bar updated us on future events. Very kind folks here.
