Great service! The man helping us at the register was very kind. Our experience was good. We got a 1/2 lbs pulled pork sandwich and a one meat plate with lean brisket. The sandwich was tasty, it was a little too sauced and that took away from the pork flavor. The brisket was a little bit more tough than bigger BBQ spots but it was still seasoned perfectly and a tasty bark. The creamed corn and mac and cheese were solid, nothing to write home about. I really liked the honey butter on the cornbread, it was seriously like an icing, so sweet but I loved it. Pretty good portions! It was 30$ for the sandwich, the plate, 3 sides, and banana pudding. Not bad pricing, not sure why others are having price issues.

Ordered the 2 meat plate to go. Supposedly LEAN brisket and pulled pork. Received 2 pieces of fatty brisket for $7.00. It was tender. Pulled pork was a decent amount and was tender and moist. Creamed corn and brisket beans were both quite good. Good flavor with a touch of heat.
Did not get bread that is supposed to come with this order.

Service was just okay, nothing special. Inside was not busy but the drive through was hopping.

Had read articles saying this was great BBQ. Have to disagree with those opinions. It’s okay, but to be honest, Spring Creek BBQ beats the pants off of them. Better brisket and pulled pork with larger portions, more side choices, faster service and all you can eat fresh rolls. When I ask for lean brisket at Spring Creek, it’s lean, no fat.

Mac and cheese didn’t have much flavor, the sliced brisket on top of the Mac and cheese was pretty good. The baked potato was ok, the brisket on top had bbq sauce, maybe I ordered wrong?? Should have got the sliced brisket on the potato instead. Overall it was ok.

I got absolutely destroyed by the ordering terminal.

The self-service terminal at the entrance wasn’t working, so everything bottlenecked to a single counter terminal. I grabbed a Coke and tried to order food, but the system is a maze of submenus where half the items are sold out. After multiple attempts, I finally managed to order some food… only to realize I still had to add the Coke separately.

I asked the lady at the counter—who was pacing back and forth handing out orders—if she could help me add the drink. The response was a snappy “under drinks, select bla bla,” at a point where I was already fully dehumanized by this funky ordering system.

All I wanted was BBQ and a little human interaction. Instead, I felt like I was battling a half-working 1990s slot machine disguised as a modern POS. So I bailed and grabbed one of H-E-B’s top-notch rotisserie chickens for $7 instead.

As an engineer, I genuinely expect better.

One star for an ordering system that turns BBQ into a stress test.

This is a great option for when we want a quick bite. If you’re really lucky, Christy will be at the register. Always upbeat and never forgets to ask if you want all the standard ingredients on the baked potatoes. I skip the green onions and appreciate not having to pick them off.

And it’s always clean inside.

First time stopping in to try this BBQ place and was anticipating an excellent meal, however the Texas Toast which comes with the combo was out and when I asked can the toast be replaced with a corn bread I was told I would need to purchase it because “The bread is free with the meal”…..yeah you make it make sense customer service is in the dumps.

This was an expensive lesson and truly disappointing given the quality of HEB. The service was awesome and the staff was a pleasure to work with, HOWEVER the food drove this rating. I should have posted some other pictures but opted not to.

The “turkey” is not conventional smoked turkey, the meat is a processed product (from turkey) but when we arrived home it was clear that this was turkey meat like you get at the deli for sandwiches and DID NOT taste very well. I think they should be stating that this is NOT true, off-the bone smoked turkey.

The meat was okay, tastey but nothing to shout out about.

We purchased what should have fed FOUR people, and you can see the portions of the sides we received. We had to wait for the sweet tea as there was none on the shelves. We received no bread from our order. While staff was super polite, the teamship was lacking and operations seemed a bit broken/chaotic.

The area was somewhat clean, a lot of flys on the day we were there, the seating areas were “new” buit not very clean/maintained.

I would not recommend this location based on my observations and the quality of the product received versus the cost we paid. And understand, I have no problem paying a strong price, but I expect a strong product and value in return, this was not the case.

We were excited to try this new HEB barbecue.
We wanted to order the Poboy, but they were out.
Then we asked for the poblano sausage and it was out.
The brisket is very greasy and underwhelming in texture and flavor. The side of beans with brisket was more like a soup. The collard greens were drowning.
The banana pudding albeit free, was underwhelming.

Our bill for two 2- meat plate combos was over $40

My husband wanted to change his order when he heard what I ordered, and the lady just kinda rolled her eyes and said now I have to redo it.
The expediter who is calling out name sounds like she’s mad ……there’s not a pleasantness to her voice no welcoming no smiling.

This is your opening weekend you should have your people pumped up and excited and instead they sound annoyed and it killed our fun.

We decided to eat lunch first and then going to the store to do groceries. We hope that this general attitude of your employees is not prevalent through our experience.
