This was our first time ever visiting True Texas BBQ and H-E-B overall, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Erica set the tone for our entire experience. She is a phenomenal representation of what an outstanding manager, employee, and overall person should be. Her hospitality, kindness, and respect toward my family and me were unmatched, and she made us feel truly welcomed and valued throughout our dinner.
We drove all the way from NRH, and because of Ms. Erica, I can confidently say it was 100% worth it. Honestly, I would come back just to see her. She embodies excellent customer service and leadership, and her presence alone elevates the entire restaurant. Because of her, we will absolutely be returning to True Texas BBQ — and H-E-B in general — without question. Give that woman her flowers & a raise!!

First time going to True Texas BBQ. The employees were super nice. I line started to form at the kiosk and an employee stepped up to take our order at the register so it was super quick. We didnt have to wait long and the food was fresh! The only thing I would say is the Mac and cheese lacked flavor but it wasnt the worst. They have plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs. Overall would come back!

recently tried the BBQ at H-E-B and was pleasantly surprised! The brisket was tender with a nice smoky flavor, and the sausage had just the right amount of spice. The sides were solid too — the potato salad was creamy and well-seasoned, and the beans had great flavor.
The service was quick and friendly, and everything was fresh and hot. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the meat could’ve been a little juicier, and I wish there were a few more sauce options.
Overall, it’s a great, convenient spot to grab quality BBQ without the long wait. I’ll definitely be back!

We got the 1 meat plate lean brisket and 2 meat plate fatty brisket and sausage. The sides were pretty tasty however for the one meat plate we only got 2 slices of beef and half of it was fatty. The cream corn was smokey and delicious. Mac and cheese we added some BBQ sauce to it to give it some kick. Baked potato could have been hotter as it was just warm. It took the butter a long time to melt in it. The staff were friendly and helpful when one of their sauce dispensers wasn’t working.

I am so shocked! First time ever trying True Texas BBQ at HEB and we will be back!! We tried the turkey breast, pulled pork, brisket for meats and it was all very good! For the sides we tried the apple slaw, potato salad, collard greens and creamed corn. All very good! We got the food really fast.
All the staff were so friendly and professional, especially Erica! She made sure we had everything we needed and was so nice!!
Ask about the coupons! There was a free cinnamon churro pudding if you spend a certain amount but you need the coupon (it’s at the register counter)

Place was nice, staff was awesome. Ordered on kiosk, which is my preferred method of ordering (changes are easier this way) Food came hot and correct. Brisket potato was very good but significantly smaller then the other one which was ordered. Both sausages were good but spouse said he “thought” there was cheese in 1 vs the other. Chicken strips were tasty. Cornbread is great. Ribs are not bad but very peppery. Mac and cheese was OK, nothing to write home about. Almost all the sodas were out but seemed to be fixed within a few minutes of letting somebody know. Overall, pretty good. Will come back again and try more, lots was sold out but to be fair it was the 2nd weekend at 6 pm on valentines day and the seafood closed up early due to weather. I vote give them a try.

The atmosphere was wonderful with the smoked brisket, chicken, pork rib and sausage filling the entire area. The service was outstanding even with a line out the door. Staff knew the menu and had their own expertise own what the menu had to offer. Erica was the standout when it came to customer service. Not only did she make sure everyone dining in or waiting for to go orders are having a great experience, but also could read the room and what you’re having to bring you ingredients that you didn’t know was available. This was my first experience with H.E.B. and True BBQ. I will definitely be back with my kids soon.

I have never shopped at or visited an HEB prior to the Forney location opening but since then, I have been back 3 days in a row for the delicious food and amazing customer service. All 3 days I have had the pleasure of interacting with Chris, Kimberly, and Bri. All 3 individuals were so pleasant and helpful. Chris and Kimberly both stopped by my table during my dine in experience to ensure that I was doing well and enjoying the food. Bri has been great and knowledgeable with the menu and answering my questions while taking my order. I also had a question about the rib cut and Kimberly was quick to provide a helpful response. All 3 have had continuous smiles each visit. Customer service is extremely important to me and because of all their hospitality and amazing food, I am now a loyal HEB customer!

The only problem i have is when a customer buys a rib plate yall need to stop saling people ribs that are hard and dry . This is the second time this has happened to me without the last few time I have came thru. The customer shouldn’t has to stop, check your food on a takeout order. We should be able to trust you guys to make sure our food is rite. I brought it back the first time without saying anything. Now I’m posting because yiu need to do better
