One of my favorite restaurants to eat. Everything on the menu is named after a John Wayne movie. I’ve never had a bad experience their. Some of the best Dam Steaks you will eat. I love their draft Stella in it’s own bladder bag system. Always 36 degrees. When i go on vacation. I would driive a thousand miles to eat their. Some places you just wait to get to. I went there 2 weeks ago and they’re closed. What a sad day. BUT… in the Roadway Inn Hotel, there’s a Kitchen restaurant, that has a bar and grill, and the food was Excellent, you won’t be dissatisfied, That will be my new stop. Very friendly staff.

Not the best. Definitely went down hill. Asked for rare and got medium. When addressed I got a blank stare. I then commented this isn’t rare, there is no pink at all. The waitresses replied then what is it. All the steaks that were ordered were over cooked. Even the sides were dry. Normally local places are better than chains but this time hold off and go to Chili’s. At least the drinks were always filled.

Quite possibly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. There were only 10 patrons in a dining establishment clearly used to handling many more, so much so that the table of three where I resided had two waitress’s. Yet it still took an hour and a half to get our food. I call it food very sparingly. In a place that prides itself as a steakhouse one would assume they would have enough culinary knowledge and experience to serve a fine cut of steak while it is still hot and not cold to the touch. Poor cooking and bad service aside I should have known better when the parking lot was empty.

Horrible experience. Ordered a moderate steak, server put in the biggest, most expensive steak. When he came to my table to inform me that my “big Jake” (the most expensive one on the menu) would be ready soon I informed him that I did not order that. He checked his pad and realized his error. Sitting right next to the kitchen I heard the cooks response when informed of this. Very loudly she stated that “he ordered it, he will damn well pay for the f***ing thing!”. Server explained that it was his error yet she continued her foul ranting so the entire restaurant could here. Wow!! Needless to say I did not eat the steak that was eventually brought to my table. I feared what had been done to it in after what I heard. This was some time ago, and decided to give them another chance. Equally unsatisfied. Steak was overdone and service was rude

Our party of 12 had a nice dinner, with the food served hot, good salads, and very good sunflower bread. The night we were here, service was slow but our server Jake, I believe was his name, did a great job letting us know he was trying to catch up with his other tables. Not once did he try to give an excuse, he just kept on with a sense of humor and a smile. When I am in Alamosa again, I will eat here again.

The service was very slow, but friendly. However, the food was excellent and portioned generously. The prime rib was some of the best I have had anywhere, and that includes many large, pretentious cities like Denver, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. My wife had a huge portion of ribs and they were very tasty. The atmosphere is very traditional steakhouse, which is refreshing from the lame gastropubs in larger cities.

Absolutely the worse steak we’ve ever ate! The cook isn’t to blame though, it was bad beef! Prices were obscene for what we got! Waitstaff was great. With a restaurant based on John Wayne…they let the Duke and us both down!

Really nice family owned so it has that family atmosphere. Nice staff, food, liquor selection, & it’s in a good safe location. Good place to kick back & relax. Family is the most important thing in life & steak is second to none here…..WOW WOW WOW. There is only one other place I’ve been to in my life that made a Ribye to that extraordinary magnitude. A1 Sauce normally dominates my steaks but it wasn’t even in my thought process after the first bite… The steak was so big I pre-requested a to-go box witch was prematurely returned do to the 5 star culinary art performed on my afternoon meal…must have this same experience I did…

Worst steak ever. We ordered our steaks medium, got overcooked leather. Waitress did not come back to table, instead we had a little girl about 10 or 11 with a Waitress apron stop by the table. Cannot recommend this Restaurant.
