Used to love this spot it has gone downhill over the past year. Service is non existent (they forgot to put in my order for a group of 4) we all ordered 1 entree. I just ordered for delivery and got the Asian chicken salad. There is a photo online that literally shows 0 Roman lettuce…yet somehow my order looks like the mixed salad at the cafeteria. The small dressings barely covered 1/8 of the mixed greens. For $20 and having this restaurant all over the country I was expecting consistency.

We’ve been to True Food Kitchen about four times now, and it’s become one of our favorite spots downtown. These photos are from two consecutive visits—we went back the very next day after trying the meatloaf because it was that good. We didn’t get the meatloaf again the second time, but everything we’ve tried has been fresh and consistently well-prepared.

The service has been reliable, and the food experience keeps us coming back. Definitely a place we plan to return to again.

I wanted to like it….. but a raw burger….overall bad service and flavorless food… my cooking at home is better than this.

The first time my husband and I went, we got sat at a table and waited 20 minutes… no water, no waiter (we tried to flag one down), NOTHING…. So we just left – disappointing

Today, we wanted to give it a second shot and get a take out order on our way out of town…. It ended up even more disappointing…. I picked up our order and we got on the road only to find there were no napkins or silverware (I got a quinoa bowl) and my husbands burger had two items he ordered it without and it was VERY undercooked (my husband doesn’t mind a medium burger) – but it was so undercooked that he didn’t eat it.

Overall just not worth the price – and no taste

True Food Kitchen in Austin delivers the same fresh, open-kitchen vibe we’ve come to expect from the brand. Great quality, friendly service, stylish interior – everything’s on point.

We started with the cauliflower, hummus plate, and edamame dumplings. The dumplings were easily the highlight – rich flavor, perfect texture. For mains, we tried the tuna poke bowl, which didn’t quite hit the mark. The tuna was too soft and the black rice didn’t really work with the rest. On the other hand, the double cheeseburger with Beyond Meat was excellent – flavorful, juicy, and satisfying.

Overall, it’s a solid spot for a healthy, well-prepared meal in Austin.

Solid 4.0 stars. Found this restaurant while looking for a healthy eating option. Service was good. The cauliflower was very tasty – just wished the portion was slightly bigger! Chicken Parmesan was fair as the air fried chicken was a tad soggy once the dish was brought to the table. Overall for our late lunch with tip, the meal ran close to $100.

We came at an off hour (2:00) and there was almost no one in the restaurant with about 5 waiters standing around talking. We saw them see us; however no one attended to our table. After close to 10 minutes, we got up and left. With the hostess thanking us and told us to have a good day. If you want attentive and prompt service, I’d go to the gazillion other options in downtown Austin.

This was my first time here. I ordered the quinoa teriyaki bowl with chicken and the edamame dumplings. Healthy and delicious.

The ingredients at this place seem to be high quality, but unfortunately the execution and service really missed the mark. When I visited for lunch, the food was served cold, about half of the sweet potatoes were burned, and the grains were undercooked and chewy.

It felt like very little effort was put into the actual cooking or presentation of the meal. With good ingredients, this place has potential, but the kitchen and service need to pay much more attention to quality and consistency.

Our server Blondina was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and generously portioned. The zero proof spicy margaritas were tasty as well as the iced americano. Would definitely come back.

Some of the best food I’ve had. And healthy and not calorie filled.

5/5 all American burger. Absolutely delicious
5/5 grass fed burger. tastes home made. Steak is delicious.
4.3/5 Lasagna Al pesto very good !
3.5/5 turkey burger. Wouldn’t order this. Little dry, didn’t taste as fresh as other items , and flavor was missing.

Have never been there but get door dash. It’s pricey yes. But can’t really find this healthy of food that tastes this good for cheap anywhere. You’re paying a premium for good and healthy food.
