My wife and I went to dinner here with my parents. We were greeted and then seated right away. Our server was very friendly, made recommendations and checked up on us frequently. They have a large selection of spirits to choose from. Prices are comparable to other places. Burgers are about $15 to $20 and more for Steak and Ribs. I had the Brisket Burger, my wife had the fried chicken sandwich, my mom got the rib tips, and my dad got the salmon burger. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the portions of food were more than enough. Also the Halloween decorations were amazing. I would definitely go here again.

True BBQ & Whiskey Bar is a welcome addition to the eclectic gallery of eateries lining downtown Griffith. Their brisket is delicate and tender, dissolving on the tongue. For those who like a little kick, the andouille sausage provides an appropriate touch of heat without overpowering its piquant blend of spices. If you enjoy the classics, their slab of ribs offer a decent helping of meat which peels right off the bone. However, if you’re simply stopping by for a drink and a bowl of their complimentary barbecue chips, the bar is stocked with an impressive variety of whiskey, including some local brands. While I’ve sampled more than my fair share of BBQ here in the Region, True BBQ is hands down the best I’ve had. If you ever find yourself in Griffith, be sure to check them out.

Just left from eating dinner here with some of my family and I have to say from the amazing food to the amazing server Scott! I can’t wait to go back again! Good food, but a bit pricey. $17 for a chicken sandwich is a bit much, especially considering what you really get. While not reflected in my overall rating, I was very disappointed they were out of sprouts. I’d be interested in dining in at some point, just for a second chance. I like BBQ, so that’s a given star. I hope service improves and/or prices drop, that would warrant another star.

I’m not the person to normally negatively review an establishment, especially a local franchise. I came here on a Friday night with my partner. There weren’t a lot of people or to-go orders. Our drinks were putrid, so we ordered beers instead.
The service was very slow. Getting our food took an hour, with items missing at first. It took 30 minutes to get our check, which we had to ask for twice.
Worst of all was the cleanliness. I had to request 3 consecutive times for clean water glasses. There was debris in them.
The food wasn’t anything to write home about. I would not recommend this place, which pains me to say given with it’s proximity.

I Took my family out for St Patrick’s day dinner. We loved the food at the Crown Point location so we drove to the Griffith location. We asked the waitress if they had Corned Beef. She said yes, and we ordered the half plate corned beef and turkey. After 15 mins she came back and said they were out of turkey and recommended brisket and we agreed. After 20 mins a young man came to our table and told us they were out of all BBQ MEATS except pork. We just left after wasting 40 mins of our evening. Why did it take so long to tell us you were out of the food we asked about when we came in? Why recommend Brisket when you didn’t have any? Seems like the staff is never prepared for people wanting to eat a meal. -We will never eat at a True Whisky again.

My rib sandwich was dry and my partner’s pulled pork sandwich was flavorless and her bun was burnt too.
My fries were so salty and our mac n cheese was so sad. . .stracks makes better mac n cheese every day of the week.
We didn’t even finish our meals and we’re out $50+ to boot.

I Ordered two combos. One, rib tips and shrimp with broccoli and mash potatoes, the other was 1/3 slab rib and blackened chicken with broccoli and mash potatoes. Everything was excellent!!! Proportions were satisfying, the chicken was moist and not overcooked. The ribs tender, mouth watering, delicious, fell right off the bone. We’ll be ordering from True BBQ again. Thanks
