Was driving through El Monte to pick up some BBQ and decided to stop at this Mom & Pop spot for lunch — glad we did! I had the cheeseburger combo and my wife went with the teriyaki bowl with white rice . Both were delicious, fresh, and hit the spot.
The place has that classic, homey vibe you only get from a family-run restaurant. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by and show them some love. Great food and even better to support a local business!

I came in to have some breakfast and also ordered a cup of decaf to which the employee responded by saying “oh sorry, we don’t have “. I have been to Troy’s many times over the years mind you. This time, there was no decaf made and the lazy employee simply didn’t want to take the time to make a fresh batch. So I walked away and needless to say, I’ll never go back. Goodbye Troy’s burgers.

It’s a time capsule place so don’t go out of your way to come here. But if you find yourself needing a classic donut or American breakfast sandwich, this is the local spot. For $10 you can’t go wrong with the breakfast burrito. This place is run by a family and everyone is very nice. Service is excellent. Come support your local food spot.

The building looks very old, but the food tastes great! We were taken in by the odd combination of donuts & hamburgers, and it was a great choice. We tried the fried shrimp and chicken teriyaki, plus a couple donuts for after. Everything was freshly made, and the staff was super friendly. They also have a good variety of burgers and sandwiches, coffee drinks, and the things you expect to find at a donut shop. Although we don’t go through Monrovia much, I’d go back the next time we do. No public restroom, limited veggie and probably no vegan options, but fun for anyone. Talk to the owner/operator guy–he’s a nice guy…I just forgot to ask his name!

SADNESS VERY SAD, Troy’s Donuts and Burgers is totally destroyed, someone fell asleep while driving and drove right in the wrong lane and smash into Troy’s Donuts and Burgers at 3:45AM and someone was in the shop preparing goodies and smash while one person was in the shop and survived the accident WOW!
