This was the most incredible meal we have had on our holiday. We spoke about it all the way back to Byron and we couldn’t choose our favourite dish.
The tataki was Devine!
The salmon skewers were cooked perfectly!
The prawn katau sambo was soooooo good!
The ryukyu pork was incredible!
We also had a couple of cocktails, the spicy yuzu margarita! Mostly because tequila and saki intrigued us. It was good!

Hands down the BEST Brussel Sprout dish at any restaurant EV-ER!! Honestly, so delighted to find this gem in the gorgeous little seaside town. Lovely service including offering tastes of wine before selecting bottle… Eggplant sticks, Karate chicken also delicious. prawn Sando just ok – a little too much cabbage.

One of the best meals I’ve had in the shire. Everything was delicious but what stood out was the quality and range of all the veggie dishes – and I’m an omnivore!
The beef tataki, scallops, barra and pork were all delish / but topped by the eggplant , cauliflower and sprouts. Thought it was pretty reasonable too – $550ish for 7 of us and that was many many dishes and house beers. Only took 1 photo because it was so good we were busy eating and having a good time. Thanks!

The cocktails were great and the food was ok, not something to come back to but definitely an enjoyable experience. I have a feeling the waiter forgot one of the dishes we ordered as it never arrived. When we finished he asked if everything was ok and I mentioned the scallops, he said he will go check. He obviously forgot but didn’t want to admit it..

What a find in Brunswick Heads. Went for lunch for the first time but definitely will not be the last. Food was amazing and the service spot on. Didn’t have to wait long for drinks and starter even though they were busy. The kingfish sashimi and tuna crudo were delicious but the stand out was the butter scallops. We had 2 servings of both the tuna and scallops. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better scallop dish, the sauce was finger licking good. We can’t wait to go back to Trouble San. Well worth the drive from the Gold Coast. Highly recommend

A stunning location with river views, cool tunes playing, great service and superb food. We had the veggie degustation and were so pleased with the food we ate. It’s amazing what can be done with a little creativity and quality ingredients, edamame with chilli butter, eggplant sticks, grilled mushroom skewers and a Brussel sprouts main served with rice and a superb crushed cucumber salad. Amazing. All for $45 each too. Loved it. We will be back.
