We spent two beautiful days on Shoal Bay Beach and both of them at Tropical Sunset Restaurant & Bar. To start off, this place is situated in a perfect location on arguably the most beautiful beach in Anguilla. It’s also off on its own little stretch of sand. The staff and service are beyond amazing! Each one of the staff are extremely kind and attentive. The food was the best we had on our whole ten day trip. We highly recommend the Crusted Snapper Filet with Creole Sauce!!! Drinks were also amazing, with buckets of beer served with an bottle opener (if you spend time on the island, you’ll understand how convenient this is), and perfectly blended cocktails to top it off!
The beach chairs were very comfortable with an abundance of umbrellas available. It was $16 to rent two chairs and an umbrella for the day, or they are free if you have lunch at the restaurant, which we highly recommend! There were lots of spots with shade from the trees, as well as spots in the sun, each with a beautiful view of the bright turquoise water. The restaurant also has great washrooms and even a play area for kids. This scored 1000/10 and we highly recommended this place for your beach day on Anguilla.

An amazing beach bar. Beach was incredible and this restaurant bar had plenty of beach chairs both days. You can sit on the beach chairs with an umbrella at no cost if you eat and drink at the restaurant which is highly recommended. There’s great washrooms inside for both male and female and a small bar within the restaurant with great music that you can hang out with the bar staff and chat while you order a drink. They cater to the beach lounge chairs so you can order drinks and lounge on the amazing beach line. The food was incredible. Between the conch Fritz and our favourite the filet snapper with creole it was an unforgettable food and serene beach experience. Buckets of beer and the amazing Rum Punches we enjoyed it all. Overall the team that worked there were amazing people very friendly and attentive. They knew us by name after the first few hours so it was very warm and welcoming and they continued to check on us. Can’t say enough good things. Aside from this specific experience Shoal Bay is an incredible beach on Anguilla to experience the turquoise water is unforgettable and the vast beach line truly feels like you’re in an oasis far removed from the rest of civilization. Sand is soft and an atmosphere serene we even enjoyed the untimely warm Caribbean showers with weather that would rapidly change with a snap of the finger. All in all amazing.

We took a day trip from St. Martin and had no itinerary but to head to Soal Bay. We happened upon this restaurant and glad we did. The service was amazing. They had beach chair and umbrellas right on the water and delivered our food and drinks to us. I ordered the snapper and was one of the best I ever had. We also had the crack conch which was fresh and not chewy with phenomenal flavor. The special of the day was oxtail and it was tender and flavorful. I’m glad we ate here it was peaceful and beautiful.

Fantastic vibes and eats while at Shoal Bay. Fun, tasty, and friendly! We enjoyed coconut shrimp, conch, rice and peas, plantains, and some great beers and cocktails. Staff was friendly too! And, free beach chairs for the day if you order food and drinks. You can dine on the beach or at the restaurant!

Cozy and beautiful little place right on one of the most beautiful beaches.
If you order food, you get beach chairs and umbrella for free. Ceviche was excellent, snapper is very decent. Reasonable prices. Friendly service.

Tropical Sunset appears to be low key, but the food is delicious, the service is outstanding, and THAT VIEW!!
Beach loungers are comfortable and included if you get lunch here. Parking is free. The hours are posted as 9:30-6, but best to call in the morning. We visited during a less busy week and they would close the kitchen around 4:30PM most days. We visited Tropical Sunset 3 times during our time in Anguilla. We stayed at Fountain, so TS was nearby with a walk or a quick drive, and chairs here are included even if you don’t order food for Fountain guests – but YOU SHOULD ORDER THE FOOD! If you have nothing else, have the Mango Chutney!! It is unbelievable, served with the shrimp cocktail, but I was getting every last bit with my sweet potato fries and it was heavenly.
On our first full day, we arrived to Tropical Sunset after lunch- around 1:30PM. The kids had N/A dacquaris, husband had a beer and I had a cocktail, we swam in the beautiful water. Before the kitchen closed, we ordered dinner to go which was a huge win after a long day in the sun and not feeling like going back out again. We brought dinner back to our hotel and easily heated it up/prepped when we were ready to eat.
We enjoyed corn hole, swings in the shady ocean-side trees, they have noodles to float in the water, a beach volleyball net (and ball) soccer balls, giant connect-four game, a Kids Zone with swings, toys in a shady area, and probably some other activities that I didn’t realize.
The chairs are comfortable, the whole restaurant and facilities are so clean. Shaq and Tacia were lovely, and I believe we met the owner or manager, too, but I’m terrible with names. Will definitely be back!

Tropical Sunset Restaurant & Bar is a “spend several hours” knd of place. There is ample parking. The beach umbrellas and loungers are complimentary providing you are having a meal. The food we had was all great – the rice and peas are amongst the best I’ve had. The service is very friendly and the pace is relaxed. And the view, well, it is simply beautiful.

Cassandra is a great server. She is the reason I am giving stars.
There was another, younger woman there. She was often not doing anything, standing around, moving slowly, ignored me the whole visit and wasn’t responsive to other guests. She gave an unpleasant vibe immediately and it made me uncomfortable.
The shrimp was really hard. Not cooked well. Fries just whatever. Plantain was flavorful, but not my thing – so that’s a me thing – it was cooked well. I didn’t try the salad.
The price was so dramatic. There are so many fees added on that it isn’t worth it. It was 40$ for this plate and to a slower than I would have liked experience because Cassandra was pretty much the only one working and had other tables, including a demanding table of about 8 women.
