I’ve been an avid goer to TS. Today I walked in to pick up my usual PB crunch bowl order, although this location isn’t my usual go to one. As I waited for 5 mins for my food (I’ve gone here 3x only, and I’ve always had to wait for my food despite putting the order in 18 mins or so ahead of time) I got a bowl that was half full on one side, and less than half full on the other side. I approached one of the employees and asked if I can get my bowl filled up a little more, and she said she needs to speak to her manager. She called her manager and her manager said they’ve been overfilling and from now on, this is the new standard – that being, fill up to the white line only. So you’re telling me you use a bowl and fill up 35-40% of it??? After the phone call between the employee and manager, the employee did offer me an additional bowl with only the PB cream, but why if her manager said not to fill up any more? Why not just make it right from the get go instead of denying the right amount of food and ruining the day?

I’ve been going to other local TS locations and this has NEVER been the case, and right after today’s incident I went back to the usual TS I go to and spoke to an experienced employee who looked at my pics and said “That’s not right and certainly not how we do it”. She then explained to me that they fill the PB cream to the orange line, and then add all the toppings on top of that, which is why I’ve always felt I’ve gotten a complete bowl that’s not half way full.

I am contemplating taking this to my social media to educate people on what they would be getting (or not getting) at this location for their hard earned $. Hopefully the owner/manager will reach out to me and try to amend today’s incident.

EDIT: I just got to work and coincidently, my wife got me a PB crunch bowl from TS because she knows it’s my favorite. Look at my last 3 pics (that’s the pic of the bowl my wife got me). See the difference (how much better and more full) the one my wife got me compared to what I got this morning?? Unacceptable!!!

I haven’t been to this location in years, the last time I was here, they put chicken on my hummus veggie wrap (that doesn’t even come with a meat at all); and the cashier had an attitude and refused to refund that.
Well tonight I was in a hurry as we had sports and we needed a quick dinner, so I stopped here on the way home because it sounded good, and I had hoped their standards had risen. Nope!
I ordered two Hummus Veggie Wraps, and a PB Cup Smoothie and a new Ohana smoothie. I ordered ahead and was happy to see my order ready and complete on time. Their pick up spot is weird, its almost behind the register, so I asked the cashier if I was allowed to grab it. She didn’t even look at me, let alone greet me or answer. I went ahead and grabbed it anyway and went home.
Both smoothies were so bland, they didn’t taste even a little bit sweet.
Both Hummus veggie wraps were gross. One didn’t have any rice in it, the other had no hummus (or at least not enough to see or taste), the avocado was brown, and both were absolutely drowning in ranch. I love ranch but I had to squeeze most of it out. Made the tortilla soggy and gross.
I remember now why I stopped coming to this location! The ones in Flint are top-notch and so delicious and staff is much more friendly. I understand this Grand Blanc location is a franchise and not a corporate store, and boy, can you tell! They don’t uphold brand standards at all. So bummed I spent $32 on a crappy dinner. Won’t be back to this one.

The people making my smoothie wasted most of my smoothie by over loading it with ice when I ordered extra strawberry, extra banana, and added yogurt. I asked if I could have the extra so it didn’t go to waste since I paid for extras. I got a rude comment from the girl making my smoothie. Got home and my chicken Bacon ranch is a sloppy mess. The tropical smoothie company should be embarrassed by these employees. Don’t use this location unless you want them to waste what you pay for and your food to be a mess.

About half the time I get the Sunrise Sunset here it ends up not quite right. Not always reliable so make sure to taste your smoothie before you leave.

This location doesn’t have a working phone number posted so I had to leave my comments like this. Please tell people when ordering that you’re out of something for a seasonal smoothie, without the biscoff for the apple pie smoothie it changes the ENTIRE taste of it , now all I taste is bananas and just, gross. I would of simply changed my smoothie. VERY disappointed I paid for something im dumping down the sink.

The staff was so loud and unprofessional, despite multiple people trying to have lunch. They were in the back yelling and laughing… Which is great that they love their job, but you couldn’t have a conversation at your table or do any work. It was obnoxious, and instead of eating in, I opted to leave because it was ridiculous. It was 12:30, lunch time, they were busy but only one girl seemed to be working. One guy in the back was on his phone the entire time, while the other 3 acted like children.

It never fails I don’t know what’s wrong with the bowls you can’t eat them at first they’re frozen then when you do go to eat it it’s just liquid . Not sure what’s being done wrong but when I got the açaí bowl when they first came out it was thicker not like this . Just eat the fruit off top is all you can do. Nasty .

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this Tropical Smoothie location. The young girl working the counter (with a nose piercing and glasses) was extremely rude and unhelpful when we asked about smoothies containing dairy. We were trying to clarify because someone in our family has a serious dairy allergy requiring an epi-pen, not just a mild intolerance.

Her response was, “If it lists dairy on the menu, then there’s dairy in it.” That’s not acceptable when the menu itself isn’t very clear. We were hoping for reassurance, guidance, or at least effort to double-check, but instead we were met with indifference.

This kind of attitude is very concerning when dealing with food service and the public, especially for families managing life-threatening allergies. Customers should feel confident that staff members understand the seriousness of food allergies and are willing to help, not brushed off with dismissive answers.

All in all…good food & nice staff. However, not sure they listened to me for our order. I asked for no extra sugar added to our smoothies…bc yes, they add a LOT of extra sugar! I also asked to have our sandwich cut in half bc we were sharing. It wasn’t cut. That makes sharing very difficult when we took our stuff to go. We also asked to have our smoothies shared into 2 cups…which they do charge for, yet it still came in 1 cup. Also some of the staff had long hair not properly contained. It was in a pony tail but still flying all over. And the garbage can was over flowing so we had to take our trash with us. In my opinion, some of these things need to be addressed.

Update 2022: Lately this location is always clean & fairly quick with orders. I changed it from 3 to 4 stars.

I’m going to be a little critical today. I’m giving you a two rating. I have visited the Flint store Lansing stores. I’ve visited stores in probably 10 different towns as a pharmaceutical rep, and I use tropical smoothie 3 to 4 times a week. This store is quite possibly the most disorganized store I’ve ever done business with. not unlike an experience one of your other customers had I had a young African-American gentleman stare at me and not take my order. I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life. Today I visited the store and never have I seen such chaos and disorganization in a restaurant in my life. I’m giving you a one star because I’ve now been in your store at least six times and every time it has been the worst experience of my tropical smoothie encounter I am a pharmaceutical rep and I go to Tropical Smoothie Flint my customers at least three times a week. And I will never enter this store again fortunately for you, you have such a good product I’ll either go to the Flint store on Linden Road or I’ll head over to the store in Burton, but I will never again enter the store.
