Avoid this location at all costs! My boyfriend and I both ordered sandwiches and smoothies from here on Sunday. When we got home and opened our sandwiches the turkey and cheese was filled with tiny black specks all over. Not sure if it was mold or if it was something else but we didn’t take our chances. The smoothies were good but that doesn’t make up for the fact that we paid $9 for a sandwich that wasn’t made with fresh ingredients and we had to throw away because we weren’t sure if it was safe to eat or not. Quality has gone way down here.

I’ve loved going here until our govt decided to stop with pennies.. there’s a penny shortage and now this place shorts me change and I only pay cash.. the first time it was a young kid who brought it to my attention that they have no pennies which was the right thing to do. Ive been back several times after and theyve given exact change. The last time I went, which will be the last time, the young girl gave me my change and shorted me..without making it aware or discussing it with me.. Just thought I wasnt paying attention. Im a single mother, work hard for my paychecks and we come here every so often for a treat bc it’s expensive. I know it’s just pennies but it adds up and this business needs to take that into consideration. Either give your customers a nickel instead of nothing, or change your prices to even amounts. That simple. Work with the customers who support your business.

Smoothies taste quite a bit more watery than they used to. Food was flavorless. Hummus veggie wrap had VERY little, almost no hummus. Jerk chicken wrap had VERY little, almost no chicken or jerk sauce. Sweet potatoes were underdone and sprinkled with an unpleasant seasoning. Tables were dirty despite there being no other customers. Ceiling leaking and falling in.

This was my first visit to Tropical Smoothie Cafe as I went for lunch with 3 friends who had been there on prior days. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of smoothies from which to choose, plus finding out that any ingredient is able to added or subtracted per individual taste. They also have numerous wraps or salads; all very healthy options. I didn’t order a Smoothie, but ordered a grilled chicken wrap, removing an item that I’m sensitive to and don’t eat. The manager was very helpful with her recommendations including knowledge of ingredients that helped with some dietary limitations. She was very polite, yet personable. A great mixture of business-sense and nice customer service. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable; as we chose to eat in their dining room. It was a pleasant and delicious lunch together. We would go there again in the future.

I have been to almost every Tropical Smoothie in the Dayton area. As I bit into my breakfast wrap, it was very cold. I looked closer and none of the cheese was melted at all and the egg was cold. Every other one that I’ve been to has been great and the wrap/contents were all cooked. When I walked in, the girl didn’t even greet me and barely had spoken one word. The breakfast wrap was disgusting and I won’t be back to this location.

When you’re understaffed & service is slow, I get it. I’ve worked in customer service. But to wait 20+ minutes in a drive thru, at least try to make orders correctly please, this food isn’t cheap. My smoothie tasted like watery grass, & my chicken quesadilla had no chicken.

I received an offer in the app for a $3.99 Smoothie, and I decided to try the new Hurricane Smoothie with exciting edible straw! To go with it, I ordered the new Thai Chicken Crunch Island Flatbread and the new jalapeño corn. The Flatbread was extremely tasty– from the soft, chewy flatbread to the crunchy carrots and wontons to the gooey cheese and fresh scallions and cilantro. The Thai peanut sauce gave it a nice tang along with the grilled flavor of the chicken pieces. I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and dove right in! The corn was crisp and creamy with a bit of “heat” from the jalapeños. I also enjoyed the Smoothie (I don’t think I’ve met a Smoothie I haven’t liked yet!), right down to the last sugary crunch of the edible straw! I can’t wait to return to the “tropics”!

UPDATE-So the business replied to me saying to email and my “safety was their top concern” which I feel is not true. Fact is, I emailed them BEFORE I made this review and they didn’t even bother to look! I have been going here every week for a couple months but I had a bad experience recently. Jaxon took my order at 7:42pm on 08/01/25 and he got my order messed up. I ordered fat burner in my smoothie and he repeated my order but he was talking very fast I only made out a B sound. I took a sip of my drink and it tasted off, turns out it had Vitamin b12. I am NOT allowed that because it has a deadly interaction with my medication! I told him about and he proceeded to get defensive and gaslight me. I told him “yes you did repeat my order but you talked so fast I could not understand what you was saying.” I can not afford this kind of mix up again because had I not have noticed the off taste or looked at my sticker it would have sent me to the hospital.
