I had a terrible experience with Tropical Smoothie Café, and it’s entirely due to their poor cup design. The cup has a narrow base that does not fit standard car cupholders, making it unstable and easy to tip over. As a result, the drink spilled all over my car.
This is basic, avoidable design failure. Customers regularly take smoothies to go, and a cup that can’t sit securely in a cupholder is unacceptable. I ended up with a mess, wasted money, and unnecessary cleanup because of something that should have been thought through.

Arguably the worst Tropical Smoothie Cafe I have ever had the displeasure of patronizing. Smoothie was the wrong color (a deep purple as if blueberries were included), lacked any sweetness whatsoever, but did have the charming taste of sink water and ginger. I ordered a Pomegranate Plunge, which doesn’t include any ginger. The person who made it tried to argue that ginger wasn’t in it, but could not explain the ginger flavor. This is the only smoothie I order, so I know how it should taste. That means there is a major issue with quality control and product standardization across locations. I’ve ordered this smoothie at no less than 6 locations in the past month – I know what it is supposed to taste like. The minute I sipped it my stomach cramped like it was warning if I chose to proceed.
I requested a refund and then was given less than what I paid. Got back in line to request the entire purchase be refunded -you don’t get to keep my tip for serving me crap.
Will never visit this location again and recommend others avoid it as well.

Let me be brief. This morning, I arrived and received the usual service. I also requested that the pitcher be thoroughly dried before preparing the smoothie. It has come to my attention that there is consistently approximately one ounce of water at the bottom of the pitcher. When I asked the staff to dry it, an older employee stated that this is standard for making smoothies. As a customer, I have no knowledge of whether this residual liquid is dishwasher, water from the previous night, or otherwise. My sole request is that the pitcher be completely dry before use, or at least store it upside down so that fluid will drain.

My husband ordered several smoothies for our family yesterday at the Central Park location and all of them tasted horribly watered down! We couldn’t even finish them. All six smoothies went to waste. I got about halfway through mine and the last sip I took tasted like vomit. The very next day, I got sick. Never ordering from here again. If it weren’t for us ordering our smoothies to-go, I would’ve taken them all back and asked for a refund. Diabolical Smoothie.

I went there this evening to catch up with a friend! The workers were very polite and helpful, even asked if we wanted help deciding. I got the acai bowl and the blimey limey smoothie. It’s definitely my go to order and it was a wonderful place to be able to sit in and talk. Busy enough for us to know it was popular but not crowded enough to feel like we couldn’t sit and talk.

The lady at the counter needs to be more courteous I think, happier? The smoothies were not worth the price so I won’t go there anymore. $8.50 a smoothie and the flavor is just not worth it. For this price we should get larger cups I think. I think I make better smoothies so I won’t be going here anymore!

I gave Tropical Smoothie another try today and really enjoyed their chipotle flatbread! The cashier was super friendly and made us feel like home. I would recommend ordering online via the app, so you could save some time.

Felt very uncomfortable the moment I walked in 7:10pm The store was empty and the staff was not occupied. They all were saying inside jokes and trying not to take my order for some odd reason.
I never leave reviews but just want other African Americans to be aware of this place. It’s very childish and gets a weird racist vibe from younger staff. Very unprofessional and if I was to be the owner I’ll be embarrassed to have that type of staff representing your location.
