Yogurt bowl was fine. I tried to order a glass of water to have with my bowl (peanut butter, duh). I was ultimately given the option to purchase a cup of ice for 1.15 plus whatever the cost of a bottle of water is. Come on. This decision was made by a random lady sitting at a table in the dining area with no uniform on. Strange.

The prices here are also about 3 bucks more for the same products at other nearby TSC locations.

Weird vibe. Expensive prices. Bad customer service. Avoid.

This past Saturday was my first time visiting Tropical Smoothie, specifically this location. I ordered a Bahama Mama with no pineapple (due to an allergy), no substitution for another fruit (too much acidity irritates my mouth), and extra white chocolate. My experience that day was amazing the smoothie tasted great, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Today, however, was a completely different experience. I ordered the exact same smoothie the same way: no pineapple and extra white chocolate. Just by the color alone, I could tell there were more strawberries added. After tasting it, I was sure, so I went back inside and asked if extra strawberries had been added. The worker told me no and said he would get the manager.
The manager assured me that no extra strawberries were added, but then the worker stated that he had added strawberry juice instead of water. When I repeated this to the manager, she turned to the worker and pressured him to say that he did not add strawberry juice. She then refused to remake the drink.
This experience has honestly ruined my desire to visit another Tropical Smoothie. This review is not meant to blame the worker, but to address the extremely poor customer service shown by the manage especially considering this involved a food allergy.

Note: The drink comes with addition to strawberries coconut and white chocolate in which the drink tasted like it had only strawberries even with additional white chocolate added.

I’d suggest placing order online cause if you show up at the location, the only orders that take priority are online orders. While waiting ten minutes, not one person who was actually in the store was waited on. Yet those who placed orders online were ready and waiting. Maybe they should have more staff working on a Saturday! Or place your order while in parking lot! I watched 5 people walk in and walk out with no wait vs the customers standing in line at the location. We also watched 3 parties walk out due to the ignorance shown!

This establishment has recently gone under new management and the customer service has hit the bottom of barrel. They don’t wear name tags nor will they give you their name because they think your complaint won’t get recorded. They are rude, unprofessional and nasty. They don’t realize if it wasn’t for us consumers they would not have a job. I have filed a complaint with corporate and plan on going even higher if my complaint is not rectified. Maybe if we get the news media involved we can get the service we deserve In Anne Arundel County…I asked for one type of smoothie..they made what they ” thought” I said…When I asked to make what I asked for…the “manager” said I didn’t ask for that…I asked her to make the correct one or give me a refund for both…She did neither and walked to the back…I am furious with these establishments who think there will be no consequences. I will go to every customer service website and blast them to make sure people go to other locations

The smoothie was good – a kiwi strawberry – though I couldn’t taste kiwi, only strawberry. The service was quick once the order was placed, but staff was not very friendly. There seemed to be a tense, disorganized atmosphere in general. It was unclear who was in line or who was waiting, as people were just off to the side looking at their phones. People who placed online orders ( I suppose) kept coming in and going ahead. Better designation of lines would be helpful.

Employee making sandwiches was incredibly helpful, I was in no rush. The manager was rude and unhelpful, not to me the customer, but to her employee. I was disgusted by the way they spoke to and treated their employee that was obviously struggling. It was clearly not laziness, the employee was trying, and instead of providing support or help she instead berated her in front of the customers. Wildly inappropriate and unprofessional, won’t be returning while management remains the same.

I have been going to tropical smoothie for years now and today was a bad experience. I was there with my mom after a workout and ordered a smoothie to split it. They offered to put it in two cups. When the man with the locs went to hand me the two smoothies I struggled to grab both and accidentally dropped one. I apologized for dropping it and they said it’s fine. I threw the empty cup away and waited for them to remake it for me.

They proceed to make the smoothies of the guests that were waiting (rightfully so) and I waited. And waited…and waited. They did not say anything else and watched as my mom and I discussed me dropping it and waiting. After 7min of them saying nothing I asked the white woman with the dark buzz cut “do I need to reorder it?” And her response was “I mean do you want to reorder it?” And I said “oh you guys weren’t going to remake it?” And she responds with “no we don’t do that”. I said oh y’all didn’t say anything.

You mean to tell me I spent 10 dollars on a smoothie and you’re not gonna remake it for an accidental drop! I’ve watched Starbucks remake drinks for people, the movies when you drop your popcorn. As a bartender of 5 years even I remake a drink when there’s all clear accidental drop.

It’s just good customer service and what you do for your patrons because, accidents happen! I just couldn’t believe the lack of courtesy and understanding.

Very very disappointing.

Look at the last 6 reviews prior to mine. I feel like I don’t even need to say it – management is TRASH. I asked to change my order I paid for in store 3 minutes after ordering and the manager said NO.

So I played her game and after I said one of my orders was disgusting could I exchange it for something else she said NO.

But she said could remake the nasty disgusting meal for me that I just said I didn’t like. I asked for a refund she again said… NO.

She said it was her policy that she was doing things this way so I said show me the policy. What did she say as a response? You guessed it. “NO”

Never returning again. Stay away. Spread the word.

Don’t do it! This place is making Tropical Smoothie cafe look bad. Leadership is a poor reflection of Tropical smoothie. No military discount! First one I’ve ever been to that doesn’t and I’ve been to a lot! No, we won’t sub blueberries for bananas, that’s a first too. We go to Tropical Smoothie a lot but won’t come back to this one again!

When I say believe the reviews — BELIEVE them.
Had I looked beforehand, I would not have stepped foot inside this store.

After visiting physical therapy next door, I stopped in — and in all my years patronizing Tropical Smoothie locations, I have never been charged to substitute one ingredient for another.

But beyond the unexpected charge, the way it was communicated was unbelievably rude — disrespectful and dismissive. The tone, the attitude, and the smirk were all unnecessary and unprofessional.

When I asked to speak to the manager, his response was, “I am the manager.”
I then asked for the owner’s contact information and was told, “It’s over there on the plaque.”

As someone who works in management myself, I found his conduct completely unacceptable.

Owner, your operations at this location are being run poorly, and it is costing you business.
I refused to make a purchase and took my money elsewhere.
