So I go to this location all the time because it’s like 10 mins from my house and I need my smoothie in the morning. I order the same thing every time. Mind you, I am a loyal customer. I have gained over 2000+ points within 2 weeks because I not only get my smoothies but I order them for my elderly and disabled community as well. So between this location, I st, Ft. Lincoln ( my original store) and Monroe Street – i spend a lot of money with Tropical Smoothie. Well this particular location needs some real help! Almost 7/10 smoothies i have to have them to remake because for some reason, they always mess it up. From using old/spoiled fruit to not fully blending the smoothie to them not adding the additional supplements that I actually pay additional money for. Sometimes I just say forget it and just take it and go but other times, I can’t. Like it’s terrible. But this last time really did it for me which is why I am leaving this review. So I went to this location and I ordered 3 smoothies. Of course my smoothie came back not fully blended and the color was completely off. Any time a green vegetable is added to any blend, it changes the color to green. It can be light or dark but it’s green. The smoothie they gave me was brown! You could see leaf chunks in it. I sent it back and told her that it wasnt right and could they fix it. Like the smoothie should not have been brown at all! I order a paradise point with spinach & kale super pack, mango, energizer and fat burner. The same drink for the last 5 years. I have never seen it brown. The girl takes it back and brings the manager to me who then tells me that the smoothie is right. I proceed to tell her mam, I order this all the time. It should be green. She tells me that she makes this particular drink all the time and the color should be brownish red. I tell her that’s not right and it should be green. Could she please remake it. She tells me no and gives me a refund. That was crazy to me. Here you are looking at my account. You see I am a loyal customer and you the manager, let your pride and ego get in the way of your job. The smoothie was wrong. I wish I took a picture of it. That was crazy! So I drove to the Bowie location on 704 which was an additional 25 minutes away, ordered the same drink and it came GREEN! It was actually perfect! I really hope yall do something with this location because the manager is off which is why the staff is off and it really dont make any sense at all that I had to experience such craziness. Plus for the manager to say that the drink should be that color says alot about her knowledge ofnthe products and should probably get some additional training. If I would have took that unfinished smoothie and choked on one of those leafs chunks, this would be a lawsuit! So I am very disappointed in this particular location to say the least and I will not be patronizing them any more until something changes. Hopefully i dont find another smoothie spot before then. PS – The pic below is from Bowie and this is how it was supposed to look. This is perfection!

I really appreciate that this location has an express drive-thru for mobile orders. It’s convenient and makes pickup quick when you’re on the go or with the kids. The food itself was good and exactly what I expected from Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
However, the customer service during my visit was extremely disappointing. When the employee approached my car, she didn’t greet me. I said hello and gave my name, but she didn’t respond—she simply turned around, got my order, and came back out. When she handed me my food, there was still no acknowledgment. I said “thank you,” and she just walked away.
Interactions like that make customers feel unwelcome. If staff care so little about basic courtesy, it honestly makes you wonder whether the same lack of care carries over into other areas behind the scenes, like cleanliness and food safety.
I enjoy Tropical Smoothie Cafe as a brand and appreciate the express pickup concept, but the service at this location on this particular visit was concerning. Prince George’s County deserves better. I encourage all of us to call out poor service when you experience it.

So I just moved to this locality, went to this place 4 times in a week! First 3 were amazing, same drink SUNRISE SUNSET. The 4th time experience was bad (Sunday evening 7:30pm)
I ordered a mobile order got there 20min late so requested if they could add some ice and blend again, they did (happy) . When I tasted it, the flavour was diluted. I owned up to my mistake and paid again for a regular one instead of asking them to remake. The second one I paid for also tasted diluted! I was gonna suck it up and leave but paying twice and not getting what I wanted upset me. So I went back telling them something was off and doesn’t take like original. My server called the “General Manger” who carried an attitude stating I’d have to pay more if I want more fruits. All I’m asking for them to do their job properly SMH, the third drink ended up being bad too! I just don’t get it. How can a place taste good 3 different days and taste bad on a specific day?!
Management should look into training employees on making drinks with perfection and customer interaction! Especially to the Manager herself. The 3 staff members I encountered previously were super nice.

So, I’m typically not a food person here but their Acai bowls and their Mixed Berry Bowl i definitely love.
The fruit is fresh, the berries are not bitter and I like that when you ask for Granola and honey, they tend to do a generous amount of it.
My favorite is the mixed berry bowl but sub the strawberries for mangos. I definitely enjoy my bowls better with mangos over strawberries. Just a personal preference but overall customer service was good, the wait time isn’t that long and the staff is helpful when subbing items out.
The location is great and there is plenty of parking here.

This Tropical Smoothie location at Ritchie Station has to be one of the most poorly run. I placed an online order and had to sit and wait in a drive up line for the order. I got out to get the order where there is a sign that says delivery pick up and a young man with long locs told me I couldn’t be there. He said I needed to go park. I went inside and there were quite a few people waiting and at the register. I’m not sure if it’s incompetence, poor management or some combination of the two but their operations are ridiculous. I’ve been to other locations and none are like this. First and last visit here. Oh and a lady with a headset had the audacity to say thank you all for your patience. What other choice to people have when they have paid for food and you’re holding it hostage. A complete joke

Dear Tropical Smoothie Café Management Team,
I am writing to formally report a food quality and safety concern regarding a recent purchase from one of your locations.
On [insert date], I purchased two Chicken Caesar Salads. Upon opening them, I immediately noticed that the lettuce was wilted, discolored, and slightly slimy, which raised concerns about freshness and food safety. I returned to the store and informed the cashier, and the salads were remade.
Unfortunately, when I opened the replacement salads, the lettuce was still in the same condition, very wilted and unappetizing. At that point, I was already close to returning to my office and my lunch break had ended, leaving me unable to return again.
I am very concerned because consuming spoiled or improperly stored lettuce can pose health risks, including foodborne illnesses caused by bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria. These risks are especially concerning when lettuce appears slimy or overly wilted, which may indicate breakdown or contamination.
Please ensure that this location is closely monitoring produce freshness and food safety standards so customers are not put at risk. I trust Tropical Smoothie Café to provide fresh, healthy food, and this experience was extremely disappointing.
I have attached a photo of the salad for reference. I would appreciate a follow-up regarding how this issue will be addressed.

Went today for the grand reopening. I missed the free for a year by 6 people ♀️ He did do a second chance raffle but I didn’t get that either. Even with a crowd they worked quickly. My sandwich was given to the wrong person but the owner corrected it quickly. He was very nice.
The smell is way better. And my daughter enjoyed her sandwich and my smoothie was correct. Both had substitutions.
