Tropical Jerk was created in 2004 by Norman Frater. Eventually him and his wife developed a family business, that now has six locations across Long Island and Queens. Our mission is to deliver the best jerk chicken around town. We blend authentic spices, fresh onions, scallions, and pepper to create our homemade jerk seasoning from scratch. Our meals are made fresh everyday. We strive to make you feel like you are home when you come to Tropical Jerk!

The service is very bland from the young lady who is taking your order. Parking is somewhat difficult if there are no spots right in front of the restaurant. I asked to get separate dishes of items that were already for a single sale,then a side dish of meat, and I was willing to pay what it would cost. I was told that I could not order like that,they don’t serve orders like that at this restaurant. Which was very surprising. What happened to customers first? I decided to order soups large. So I’m paying twenty three dollors for two soups, NO PROBLEM, if there were actually pieces of meat in the soup. I paid for spicy broth. And the wait was around 18 minutes and it was not busy.

The service is so slow it’s ridiculous. Everything is made to order. Just know you will be waiting almost 30mins for your food and about 20 mins for soup. Who got time for that when you’re hot and hungry. This was my first and last time coming here

I must say that i stopped coming here 2 years ago because the staff that worked here was very unfriendly and up until today i have been going to Jamaican Bickle which makes good food except that they are closed on Saturdays and they close early on Fridays. so today i decided to try Tropical Jerk for the first time since 2 years ago and i am so happy that i did.. the new people are so much nicer and they also give you alot more food including oxtails and other meats compared to Jamaican bickle. so i am sticking with Tropical Jerk and i do enjoy the taste more than other places.

Went here this week got a curry chicken and curry goat meal. Omg that curry had us running to the bathroom for 2 days straight. Very uncomfortable all day and night because that curry messed our stomachs up. Never again.

Just found out about this locations, usually go to Baldwin. The food was tasty, also good customer service. Recommend you ask to see your serving before leaving the store. Being in business is tough; if customers and provider work together, we can all have a positive experience ✌️
