Neighborhood native here — and this place is dirty.
I’m talking DUTTY. I would never eat here again. The issue isn’t even the customer service — it’s the food they’re serving. I got food poisoning from this place and I will never step foot in there again.
From the looks of other reviews, I’m clearly not the only one. This spot seriously needs to be checked out by a food inspector.

2005 the thing that I enjoy the most is your jerk pork only because it is done on a grille, not every jamaican restaurant jerk the a pork on a grille or the chicken. It’s oven made, but dislocation. Does it all? I live in a different county and I will make the travel to come here to purchase my food, not any other one. This location in you in India. I have a lot of mix feelings about the place I remember once I had to speak to management about his employees and how they treat the customer. But that’s not the point. Today I ordered 2 plates of food. Your chicken, rice and peas, jerk, pork, rice and peas and Barbie fried chicken. I was very particular to the server of what I wanted but when I got home, the food was absolutely trash. The pork looked like it’s been sitting there for days when you break into the pork. It’s so hard. It seems like it’s pork that they have probably the day before and they warm it up. Everything was chopped up in pieces. It was horrible. I want to tell you that this was my last time going there just because like again. I said I had issues with that location in the past, but I still went back to support the business. Listen, my only thing to say when you as owners have a business. You cannot let your employee’s make your business go under take pride in what you built because at the end of the day, they’re gonna move on to better when they can.And your busy is gonna always have a negative if you representing our country Jamaica, let’s do it. The right way find people that can actually cook people that have customer service training to run your establishment. Because to be honest with you, that restaurant and the food represent the ona. So it make me ax. How is the owner?
I’ll give the reign in a poor score.Because I had to throw the food out.I’ve been supporting this business for this long.I’ve even bring people there all the servers you all need to learn that this is not jamaica.This is america, you have to serve multiple cultures.Ethnic background, and you have to do it with a smile and be professional greet the customer.Let them feel at home. My husband ordered chicken with rice & peas. As he was eating, he discovered pieces of metal in his rice. Very unacceptable. If he wasn’t careful enough, he could’ve choked… That’s a safety concern. He did enjoy his first couple of bites, but please, for future references, do better with preparations.

I’ve been a regular at this spot since 2021, but the food quality can be inconsistent—it really depends on who’s cooking. Some days it’s great, other days not so much. Over time, I’ve become familiar with some of the staff, but recently things have taken a turn. Normally, I only order meals, but a while back I tried veggie patty. The bag it came in had a strange odor, like roaches, so I discarded it. Months later, I bought another veggie patty with coco bread during my lunch break, and once again, the bag had the same foul smell. I brought it to the cashier attention (I don’t know her name, but she wears glasses), and instead of apologizing, she cursed at me and told me not to come back. I simply replied, “No problem, you’ve just lost a loyal customer.” Customer Service training should be mandatory.

I went to tropical jerk today to get some jerk pork. I got home and I’m not sure what this is they served. It is definitely not jerk pork. Tropical jerk (Jerusalem Ave) selling stew pork and calling it jerk pork. This is not true jerk pork. I’m very disappointed. Will not be going back.

Got the last plate of ackee but it sure was delicious! Came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and was not disappointed. The service was good, the price was right and the food was yummy! Would be back!
