Tropical Isle was a blast! Before coming to New Orleans, it was recommended to me by co-workers, and it surely did not disappoint! The first afternoon I went, they had a great deal on their IPA, which I had never heard of but tasted great! I met a lot of cool people and interesting characters as well, to include a couple making out right next to me. Usually I wouldn’t have been into this kind of behavior, but I was in New Orleans on vacation, so I guess it kind of comes with the territory. Lol.
The second night I went, I opted for the infamous Hand Grenades, which were pretty good, but did mess my stomach up a little bit, so I quit after two. However, they had an awesome live band, which played some songs that I hadn’t heard in bars in years.
Finally, I loved the vibe and atmosphere – it completely leaned into the craziness of New Orleans.
5/5, must stop by if in The Big Easy!

For my first visit to NoLa Tropical Isle was such a great on theme bar.
Absolutely loved all of the green grenades and the themining is so fun
We ordered a “Green Granade ” See the pictures below. It tasted like a GUSHER it was so good! The service was fast and the live music was so good!
Honestly for a Saturday night it wasn’t that crowded but I liked that because we were able to grab stools to sit on for our whole bachelorette group.

This bar was my to go to during my weekend trip. It was never overcrowded not even on mardi gras. This was such a plus !!! Loved that they have set prices specially during the season because other places did not and had overly high prices. Drinks were great and atmosphere was perfect to chill. No lines for the bathroom an absolute plus. Will be back!

The Hand Grenade was not as strong as I had remembered. The first time I had it, I was probably a light weight. It was still good and not overly sweet. The little neon pathway to the bathroom is really cool!

My hand grenade days are thankfully over. It’s a noun now, ‘Thats so hand granade.’. We stopped because he needed a rest. Holy rollers for me, virgin bloody for him. Service was good, the bartenders were fun. It was a daytime visit, so no shenanigans. Watch the step though.

Live music, fun atmosphere & drinks! What can be better?! We had a blast checking out Tropical Isle AND we got to try the OG hand grenade. What made it even better was there was a skinny version that had less sugar for us diabetics. High key, if you’re ever there, get the peanuts THEY’RE SO FREAKING GOOD!
