TG smash burger was fantastic, that mustard curry sauce was sweet yet tangy, with a little kick. The burger was juicy, the diced tomatoes were a nice touch as well.
I ordered a steak bowl to go and when it was given to me the rice spilled out the bowl in the shopping bag, I brought it to their attention and they were able to remake another one.

Was in the area last weekend for a rugby jamboree. Between games, me, my cousin, and his two daughters were looking for a place for lunch. Didn’t want anything too heavy or greasy, as they’d be playing again shortly. I saw the Tropical Grille nearby, and since my wife and I have had good experiences every time we’ve been to a Tropical Grille in Greenville and Mauldin, we decided to give it a shot – so, we headed that direction. THEN, I saw their reviews, and started having second thoughts.
Well, all I can say is, I’m really not sure where other people are having issues. I did see some people say that the quality had gone downhill, but, as I mentioned, I’ve been to other Tropical Grilles numerous times, and this location was just as good as the others.
The four of us all got different items – Caesar wrap, southwestern bowl, chicken sandwich, Cuban sandwich, and a side of plantains – everyone tried everyone else’s food, and we were all happy with everything! Also, the young lady taking orders was super nice and super helpful!
Give this place a shot!

I don’t always travel to the Caribbean in my imagination, for a flavor explosion, but when I do, I just head over to Tropical Grille in Greer, South Carolina. I’ll tell you what, this place is the real deal for anyone looking for the best eats in the Upstate. The moment you walk into the Hwy 14 location, the smell of mojo-marinated meats hits you like a warm island breeze. It’s the kind of spot where the food is so fresh, you’d think they have a direct line to a farm in Havana.
My go-to is the Cuban Pork Bowl with that 12-hour slow-roasted pork that literally melts in your mouth. If you’re feeling extra, you’ve got to grab the Palomilla Bowl with those sweet plantains—they’re like nature’s candy, but better because you don’t have to hide them from the kids. The variety here is staggering; whether you’re counting macros with a Veggie Bowl or going all out with a Cuban Sandwich, your taste buds are going to be doing a happy dance.
The atmosphere is always buzzing and family-friendly, making it a must-visit gem for a quick lunch or a hearty dinner. I once saw a guy try to finish a Lomo Saltado bowl in record time—talk about a “steaks” are high situation! Seriously though, the portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the service makes you feel like family. Tag a friend who needs a vacation on a plate!
Stay flavorful, my friends.

There are problems with speed of service, but my biggest complaint is the chicken.
Why in the world did this chain ruin what used to be their core, foundational menu item??? Back when it was called Tropical CHICKEN Grille, the chicken was what everyone came here for, and it was wonderful. Grilled, juicy, delicious, never dry. Now for some unknown reason they are cutting the chicken up into small pieces, then putting them into some kind of broth/liquid before serving. The result is overcooked, tough, boiled chicken that feels reheated. No longer juicy, freshly grilled chicken.
On top of that the prices have gone through the roof. I can grill my own chicken better than this sad stuff.

My go to place for lunch. Food is always good but sometimes the order is messed up and sometimes the service can be slow. The staff is still always nice and I haven’t had a bad encounter.

I love, love, love their food. I’m so excited they opened up this one close to me because before I was about 30 minutes away. The young lady at the window today was very polite and helpful. She went above and beyond with her customer service. I’m actually shocked to see they only have 3.9 stars. I bet there were mistakes when they first opened. As a business owner of two businesses I know things can be a little hectic when you first open. Hopefully those stars get brought up over time now that things have settled.

I was very patient. They kept apologizing for taking such a long time and I didn’t even think to check my to go order, but they didn’t give me anything to eat with and they didn’t give me my sauce with my chicken bowl. I tried to call the store but their phone literally just disconnects on you saying they didn’t have to set up their voicemail so they’re obviously don’t want to hear any feedback, so here it is.
My chicken was very dry and tough.

The food is always very delicious here. Whenever we come. They give you plenty of food. Probably too much. We have actually gone in and shared a meal and it’s been really good. I forget which one of the plates I had but it had guacamole sour cream might spend like the Southwest dish. But I would definitely recommend it and there’s always parking available whenever we have come

We love tropical grille. The Greer location is struggling though. It takes forever in the drive-thru even if there’s no line. They gave us the wrong bowl even after confirming what we ordered and my husbands sandwich was cut weird. We were so excited to have a location closer but they really need help.

Took a while to get our food. I understand it’s made fresh. My husband sandwich he said was good but my steak was hard to chew. And the old saying where the beef. 1 thin slice that only covered about half. I’ve had food from Tropical grille that was great but this terrible.
