This was thee best Jamaican meal I have ever had, in my entire lifetime. I’m from Miami, FL. Jamaican food is a staple cuisine in our city, so I’m no stranger to what good Jamaican food tastes like.
I must say the food at Tropical Flava far exceeded the delightful culinary experience of all the restaurants I have visited. I hope Macon, GA appreciates the gem they have in this establishment. I ordered oxtail, rice & peas, plantains, and stir-fry vegetables. Those oxtail melts in your mouth, and the cabbage, along with the other vegetables, were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rice and plantains were superb palatial additions. Let’s not forget the amazing host, James, who displayed hospitality at its finest. Needless to say, my visits to Macon will include dining at Tropical Flava.

After years of passing by and not being in the area when it has been open, my husband and I finally got to eat here. It was absolutely delicious, and James went above and beyond for us. Thank you for the pumpkin rice recipe!

This is some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had! All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. We had the Tropical Garlic Shrimp, the whole Red Snapper, and the curried goat. We got Jamaican beef patties to take home. Everything is wonderful, and we will definitely be back. If you’re looking for a wonderful atmosphere with delicious food, please come here!

Drove 2.5hrs to get some food. Ordered jerk chicken and curry goat. When I got home I realized the goat portion was barely there and was 98% bones. The goat was significantly more expensive and then to mainly receive bones. My wife and I ended up sharing the chicken, as I only got a mouthful of bones and was afraid to choke, when I tried the goat.
I’m very disappointed as we used to frequent this restaurant in the past.
If you know that you don’t have much of an item left in order to complete an order, you should not sell it.

My go to spot for Jamaican food in middle GA! I’ve tried a few of the main entrees but my go to is the Brown Stew Chicken, rice and peas, plantains and coco bread!! Everyone is so pleasant, the atmosphere is always nice and I love their selection of gospel music that they play! Always a 10/10 when my friends and I meet up here. 2 weeks ago I took my dad for the first time, he had the oxtails and cabbage (which he loved) and my hubby had the garlic shrimp, Mac n cheese, and cabbage! No complaints!!

We had the BEST dinner at Tropical Flava!! We ordered the oxtail entree, jerk tofu entree, coco bread. All of our food was so flavorful and so so good! You can tell that the chefs put a lot of love into their food—it really felt authentic and homemade. They also gave us samples of all their natural drinks that are made in house (all delicious btw) and we decided on the cucumber/lime and natural fruit punch.
Another thing we loved was the service. Everyone here is so friendly and treats you like family. I liked the feel of the restaurant; it’s set up like a lot of other Haitian & Caribb places I’ve been to. I felt like I was almost on vacation—somewhere totally away from Macon. Truly one of the best Caribbean spots I’ve tried in a while 🙂

My food was amazing!! The Fried Fish was seasoned perfectly. The sides were and excellent compliment for it. This was my first time trying a whole fish like this and I was pleased. My cousin had the Oxtails and she was also pleased with her meal. My only complaint is it needs to be more transparent that all natural juices have ginger in them and are non refundable if you don’t like them. Also beware that a gratuity is already added to your
ticket for dine in customers.

I love this place!!! Every time I come I am satisfied!! Great food and great vibes!!! This was our to go boxes. There was no lack in the amount of food we received.
Update: My husband and I dined in this evening and the food was STILL WONDERFUL!! The vibes were still GREAT!! James and his team always make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. The amount of food, taste and everything was ON POINT!!
