This is the 1st time i went into this restaurant after seeing them at the Grant Park Festival and it was even better. The same young man that was so nice and helpful at the festival was there in charge of the dining room area and he helped suggest some dishes for me to try and it was fantastic. I had the Chicken Pasta and the 3 meat meal that included Oxtails which was tender and juicy the curry chicken which was tasty as well and the curry goat was just as great as well. I noticed that a lot of people kept coming in for take out and that says a lot about the food that so many people come there to eat out and dine in. I took my handicap transportation there and took the marta back home but it was well worth the trip and travel time for food and service so good. Please anyone reading this review make your way out to Tropical Cuisine if you want good take out food or if you want to dine in the young man in charge of the dining room area is so nice and friendly and being in an wheelchair the place does have a ramp and space for me to either order to go and to eat in as well

I had the pleasure of meeting this establishment at an event at a festival at Grant Park. And I must say I was very impressed. Let me first start by saying everyone there was very nice and friendly. With me being in an wheelchair sometimes people act strange towards me but they made me feel like a respected person. First off I tried the mango juice and it was so good. Next I had rhe curry goat plate and I must say that the goat was cooked to perfection and it tasted so good that I came back and ordered the jerk chicken plate and it was also really good im use to new York food and this reminded me of home. The jerk chicken had the right amount on spice and kick to it. The rice was really good and went real well with the meat. The young gentleman that took my orders was so kind he had an genuine smile and you can tell that he really loved what he was doing and it showed. I will be going to their location in college park real soon. I suggest that if anyone wants good food then they need to run not walk to this establishment.

Would NOT recommed this place to anyone. This establishment messed up my order prior and promised to finish the issue. I placed another order today and it was the same exact issue. I ordered curry goat, the food is dry. Looks as if it has been sitting out allday. I also asked for additional sauce (maybe it would have helped with the dryness) & nothing. Called back & the person who I placed my order with was very dismissive & very unhelpful. They will not correct their mistakes, they will act as though they are confused. $70 wasted. Very unprofessional, I wouldnt recommend to anyone.. not even an enemy.

Picked up my favorite lunch special from here the oxtails! Great size portioned meals. I’ve been getting the same thing from here for a month now and they have not missed yet. $8.99 for a tilapia meal is amazing lunch as well.

$7.99 lunch special was amazing and the food was real good . After taxes $8.69 …… It had a spicy kick to it felt like I was on an island in Jamaica eating. The staff was real friendly with smiles on their face and very helpful in me choosing my selection. I had boneless curry chicken with rice and broccoli.The plate was big enough to share it with someone and still get full . No complaints and I’m actually mad at myself for not coming here sooner .

These OXTAILS WERE HORRIBLE & EXTREMELY TOUGH!! I reviewed Tropical Cuisine some years ago, giving them 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ due to the food being amazing and customer service being just as amazing. Unfortunately , that has definitely changed. I’m aware that they have switched owners in the last few years. I have been a bi-weekly regular customer patronizing this establishment since 2010. I have scaled back the last few years but would still go for the curried chicken . I made an error in judgment tonight by attempting to order one of my favorite island meals… Oxtails with rice and peas.. They were tough,it difficult to them with a fork and knife.. I had already come home and prepared to be home for the evening. I called to request a refund, and to my surprise, the ONLY way that I could obtain a refund was if I got up and got dressed and brought the meal back tonight. I wasn’t given the fair opportunity to bring it back tomorrow . I have a receipt and spoke with the exact gentleman who took my order. What an inconvenience when your establishment should know when your Oxtails are not prepared well and are undercooked. Needless to say, poor customer service , a horrible experience, and it’s to late to eat at this point . I do not recommend this location for your dining experience.

Still a good restaurant, relatively good food with this newer and less than actually Caribbean appearing chefs. I dined in and also picked up a roti (nicely sized)recently after not visiting in about 3 years and it’s lost a bit of its soul. The curry wasn’t really hitting, besides the curry’s flavor there was nothing, no spice, no hint of scotch bonnet, garlic, visible onions sautéed into the mix with the chick peas & potato…anything to remind me as a Trini… that this was authentic. There’s still time to make some improvements.

Today was my first time coming I’m from Atlanta but I’ve never been to tropical cuisine and it’s definitely worth a visit! When I came in everyone was so nice Latasha took my order she was super sweet and helpful! The menu has so many things to pick from I wasn’t sure what I wanted but she helped me decide and showed me some popular choices on the menu. I got the shrimp pasta with their homemade tropical sauce. Thee good down to the deserts was amazing!!! I love spicy so that fact that they had the option to make your pasta your level of spicy made this my new favorite place! I will definitely be back again!

I had the best pasta I have ever had in my life on Friday, January 16, 2025. The next night my stomach started hurting and I started popping all through the night into the morning. I had to risk it and get on the road to get diarrhea medicine and pray for no accidents. Because they have a great health score, I refused to believe this food was the cause as it was so delicious. I blamed it on hotel water, the eggs at another restaurant. I was so convinced it wasn’t this food I even went back to get more food and when I went to leave a review, I saw another reviewer state that she was sick like me after eating on pretty much the same night. I immediately found an un housed person to give the food to and prayed that the sickness had passed from the food and decided to leave this review. I am so disappointed as the tropical shrimp and chicken pasta was absolutely delicious. I had plans to order some and bring back home it was that good. I am still in disbelief. Utter disbelief.
