Great new(ish) spot in Tampa! I was invited to their grand opening before they opened to the public and had the opportunity to try the menu.

Quick note up front: this place is cashless, card only. We really enjoyed our first visit. This is a new location for Trophy Fish. It’s a quick service restaurant where you walk up and place your order, then sit anywhere and they bring the food to you. We ordered our food at sat at the bar which is very large with a lot of seating. The food arrived pretty quickly. We ordered peel and eat shrimp with amberjack (they offer choice of plate or sandwich, I ordered the plate) with sides of rosemary potatoes and creamed corn. Everything was very good. The fish here is all locally sourced and fresh, and while it is is a bit pricey, knowing that it’s fresh is worth the cost. Also, all of the portions were quite generous so you get your moneys worth. For drinks, I ordered the Blood Money which was excellent, especially if you like smoky drinks (it is mezcal based). The servers were all very friendly and attentive.

Trophy Fish is the perfect spot if you’re craving fresh seafood with a side of speciality cocktails. I’ve ordered grouper tacos multiple times and they are consistently big portions and very fresh. The rosemary potatoes are some of the best potatoes I’ve had. Definitely a must try. The coleslaw and green beans were equally tasty. If you enjoy oysters definitely order this as well. The chorizo, parmesan and chimichurri is a combo you never knew you needed. Perfect date night or night out with the family.

Had been spying the place for a little minute. We decided today was the day! I’m so glad! A chill Sunday. Jaron spotted the newbies and guided us expertly through as it’s a bit different as it’s not table service per se. You “open a tab for food,” then ,using your name, let the bar know what you’ll have to drink. Sit at the bar, a high top or a table, all covered but open air or an air conditioned indoor seating. It was too cold for me, and there were enough fans blowing in the bar area, so I was perfectly happy sitting out.

Great atmosphere and decor! The remodel from the old Bodega is really good! Will go back after some of the “new location kinks” are worked out. To order food there is one location point of sale where everyone must line up to “open a tab” to order food and drink and then line up at the same place again to pay before leaving. Big choke point in the system. Long wait to both open the tab order food and drink and then another long wait to pay to leave. Being a new location most people are asking many questions about the menu to the one cashier able to register people’s credit cards and to get payments at the end. My recommendation on hindsight would be go directly to the bar order some drinks you open your tab there, then go to the food ordering point of sale, tell them your name for the tab and order your food then. That way you’re sitting at the very pleasant bar quickly enjoying beverages and you can try to time the line for food purchase until it’s relatively short. When you’re ready to pay your bill and leave also try to wait till the line is at its shortest then go to the one cashier to pay your bill and leave.

Food was excellent, the fish catch of the day nuggets did not disappoint. My Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour were both made the traditional way and with high quality ingredients.

My first time here! Sat at the bar and Kocho the bartender was so kind and attentive to to all the customers. The attention to the details in his drinks is beautiful. He answered all my questions and He also recommended a delicious drink after listening to what I like and dislike.

Food isn’t bad but everything is serviced on paper plates and plastic ware. Ordering at a window and paying the same prices as a high end sit down restaurant but without any service isn’t worth the price. Drinks are great and reasonable.
