Edit: we came back and got his name this time. Thank you Colt!!

I wish I had caught our server’s name. He was phenomenal and we enjoyed talking about comics and such with him. He was very attentive and on top of everything! I never had a cup go empty. He went above and beyond.

My boyfriend and I came here on a day trip from about two and a half hours north in Seneca County, and we picked this place for food because it looked neat. We were not disappointed! Decent prices, excellent service, very tasty food. Thanks again to our awesome server! 🙂

Troll Pub in Dayton is warm and inviting, with a charming rustic atmosphere that feels perfect on a cold evening. The food is delicious, comforting, and served fast by friendly staff. An ideal spot to warm up, relax, and enjoy a satisfying dinner.

First time here and let me just say, everything about this place is amazing. We are coming from out of town, but will definitely make the hour drive back!

Cool place. Came for the first time for lunch. Fun atmosphere. Good selection of pub style food. Got the wedge salad. Friend got a hamburger. Easy kiosk pay parking. Located super close to Oregon District.

Love the trolls outside! Good food and great atmosphere. My husband’s burger was big and juicy while my taco salad was perfectly seasoned and good to the last bite! Our server was quick, attentive and patient – it took us a little bit to decide- and they had lots of choices. The parking fee is easy to pay on your phone and it wasn’t much. I suppose you could choose not to pay to park but that’s on you not the pub. If something happens, they did warn you!

Have had this place saved in my places to go for a couple years now. Made a trip to Dayton to watch the Dragons, so finally made it here. The building is very interesting. We got the pretzel appetizer. Wow, was it good. Came out very hot and the taste with the beer cheese was phenomenal. I went with the turkey sandwich and it was soot on, as well as their seasoned fries. To say we left happy is an understatement. The prices are very affordable as well. Definitely pleased with our experience.

We came here on Saturday night and there was no wait. I could tell our waitress was really busy but even still, she was friendly and attentive and open to answer our questions.

I got the bourbon and berries cocktail, and it was awesome! It was obviously very strong, but it went surprisingly well with my beer cheese burger. The burger tasted delicious, probably one of the best in Dayton. The fries were also really good, and I’d say the amount they give is very reasonable for the prices. Ultimately, for 2 burgers, an extra side salad, a cocktail, and a lemonade, we spent around $50 not including tip. It’s not the cheapest place, but it’s also not the most expensive either, and I’d say for the vibes and the quality it’s well worth it.

Update: I’ve added pictures from our most recent visit. My review above still stands!

AUGUST 2024: A coworker and I visited here after a long work day to grab dinner. We made it a few minutes prior to the kitchen closing (at 9pm).

I ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich, troll fries, and the Bourbon cheesecake for about $30 USD. The food was good. The 2 large chicken strips were great, but the seasoned French fries were a touch too salty for me. They were good and like the throwback Rally’s fries, but just a little bit too salty. The cheesecake was good and came with a shot of Bourbon. I was expecting a Bourbon glaze or sauce, but the shot worked .

PROS:
* The ambience and vibe of the restaurant is super dope. The rehabbed rustic warehouse look was executed flawlessly. From the bookcase doors to the great vaulted ceilings, there is not much to dislike here. Furthermore, the place is huge and could fit 100-150 people easily.
* Friendly bartender who was rushing around Luke crazy to fulfill the dinner rush. My guess is that like 15 people came in prior to the kitchen close time.
* Very reasonable prices, especially for the value.

CONS:
* None

SUMMARY: Heck yeah, I’ll be back. This is like a hidden gem in the Dayton area.

This was the best service I’ve ever had! While chatting with friends, we noticed our ice had melted in our drinks. Without us asking, the waitress brought fresh ones—a level of care I’ve never experienced at a restaurant before. On top of that, the deep-fried pickles were hands down the best I’ve ever had!

Brian and Stephanie have been absolutely amazing! We had a giant crowd for them to manage and they did it perfectly. Everyone had their drinks and food in a timely manner and Brian and Stephanie were extremely patient with everyone’s order. I highly recommend this bar! It was an awesome rehearsal dinner!
