If you ride the Triple Nickel in southeast Ohio, ya gotta stop by the Triple Nickel Tavern for a drink. A simple block building on the Muskingum River at the northern end of Ohio’s premier motorcycle route, 555. Built by the owner and serving beer, soft drinks and some snacks it’s a must visit for our group of riders when we are in the area. The owner alone is a great rest reason to stop and enjoy the Triple Nickel Tavern

GF and I (early 50s) spent a few hours here on Sat afternoon. 555 has just the right kind of punk dive vibe, and a strong local following… reminded me of some of my favorite NYC haunts. Cheap draft beers made us plenty happy. Bartender James – perhaps the world’s shortest Minnesotan 🙂 – took great care of us.

(Mojo’s Pizza reviewed separately – it’s fantastic.)

Random night in Colorado Springs and I couldn’t have stumbled across a more badass place. Fantastic music, and the crew in charge of making the pizza were 100% masters of their art. Highly, HIGHLY recommend

It was recommended as a pool hall. Having a single tiny box table doesn’t meet requirements. Dark with too loud music. One guest at the bar, one bartender. We didn’t stick around.

Great divebar in the eastern outskirt of Downtown. Service is great, divebar styled cocktails are good too.
$2.50 Tecate in a can.

Met the owner of Fritzy’s which I believe is the food place behind the bar (not sure if they’re connected). Tried the bbq chicken pizza pocket thanks to Nishaun’s recommendation (who also invented them) — SOOOO GOOD AND GREAT PRICE. Get a lot of food! A++

Also, the bartender Ryan is the best. Always recommend this place to anyone who will listen hidden gem!!

Went in on a Thursday afternoon and had been paddling at quail lake prior so was dressed in flip flops, hair up, and a cover up dress. I felt so judged by the bartender (grey long beard) working, he was rude and we left. I have never had this issue and have been a patron at this establishment on quite a few occasions, and have always been treated with a welcoming attitude, (Dave has always been great, as have all the other bartenders in the past), sadly, this experience has made me reconsider going back any time soon.

I was just asked to leave because “I wasn’t spending any money.” When broached by the gentleman down stairs about paying a cover charge. I was told it was $10 but by friend was told it “a donation of $5 or $10”.
I was personally invited by one of the performers to observe their set and was just patiently waiting. Due to the fact that I am paid to be at parties and to view performances, I did not want to be accused of working for free by sitting in on there performers so I mostly waited upstairs and outside.
I will not say that the fact my friend and I were the only people of color in the establishment, had anything to do with it. But considering neither him or I drink, and it was cold outside, I do not understand what the problem was. There was no entry fee at the front door.
The whole experience was awkward, unsettling and I would not recommend this place to my friends of color to perform. I am always one to give my flowers where they are due, but none are due here.

Fritzys, down below, is the chillest vibe with the best energy. True culture exists here, which is rare.
