I’m originally from Philly and have been living in Georgia for the past 10 years, but let me tell you — Triple J’s Smokehouse just became one of my top BBQ experiences, hands down. My husband and I were in Houston for a quick weekend, and this spot did not disappoint.

Parking is a little tight, but once we got inside, everything moved fast. We weren’t in line for even 15 minutes. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the whole vibe felt like true Houston hospitality.

Now the food? A1.
The potato was phenomenal, the ribs were so tender they practically fell apart, the sausage was seasoned perfectly — honestly, everything was delicious. And yes, we topped it off with dessert because how could we not?

Portions are huge; this ended up being our only meal for the entire day. You can definitely share, but you’ll want to savor every bite.

Highly recommend. If you’re in Houston, don’t miss Triple J’s.

The food.. listen was was fire & worth the hike to the North Side. I ordered the ribs, sausage, baked beans, potato salad, peach cobbler & I would definitely go back. I didn’t care for the sweet tea, it tasted like kool-aid (I prefer brewed) but o/than that 9/10. The service was good, they were super busy however, they stayed composed. This was my first time & even though they were busy they still showed patience & gave recommendations. I appreciate that. The line was out of the door! I went around 4P.M not sure if it’s like that daily.

Lunch at Triple J Smokehouse didn’t disappoint! The line was long long, but good things come to those who wait. Tried the Big J potato—loaded and on point. I’m not usually a sausage fan, but the lady behind me swore it was the best in Houston. She wasn’t wrong. Ribs and brisket hit the spot too. No BBQ sauce needed—if you know, you know. Worth the wait every time! Got carrot cake to go but that’s for later.

The only issue I have is that, I’m upset that I’ve been living in Houston for all these long years and never ever have I been here before. Everything I got blew my tastebuds out the water!!! My mouth is watering right now writing this review . Just look at the photo that I’m posting with this review, I’m sure it’ll make your mouth water too. And oh I drove one hour on my lunch break to get it. So worth it!! So if you haven’t tried them yet please go and try them, the best BBQ in Houston tus far . And oh please don’t forget to get the barbecue sauce. And pssss the green beans have smoked brisket in it, giving it a nice smoky flavor

Obviously popular based on the line, but the staff kept things moving efficiently. Couldn’t decide between the brisket and the ribs, so I got both on the 2 meat plate. Came with two sides, so I got the beans and potato salad (they said fries counted as both sides). I’m a potato salad fan, and this stuff was good, but the beans surprised me. They were delicious! The ribs had good flavor and were tender. The brisket was amazing! So tender and great flavor. If I had to choose between the two next time, I’d go with the brisket. I got the sauce on it, and it was perfect. It wasn’t overpowering or gloopy like some sauces can be. I also got the peach cobbler, which was delicious. You could easily split that between two people…but I didn’t.

Greatest BBQ, even when I moved to Vegas Triple J’s was one of my first stops. The lines are long for a reason. The move pretty smoothly tho.
