Went around 2 o clock with my husband for late lunch. Closed sign on door but they were opened as we tried door and had to ask if they were opened. Counter girl was on her phone so no greetings. We ordered a couple of appetizers and I order kids meal so I could try the chicken. Asked for a breast and I said would pay extra. I asked if they had tea and only watermelon flavored. I asked if they had soda and they said no. We took a seat in the dining area and they brought our food out. Okra and pickles were good. The chicken was dark meat. I cut into it and it was pink. I took it to the counter and showed the girl and she got an attitude on her saying that it was not pink and it’s cooked like it should be and the cook knew how the cook it. I told her I was from the South and knew how to cook chicken and that definitely was not it. I asked if I paid extra for white meat and she said no. I then asked if they had water and she told me no. So I go into a restaurant and rude front service-sitting on phone, no drinks other than the watermelon flavored tea, no condiments, napkins etc. I will say the skin of the chicken was crispy and had great flavor, okra was yummy and husband did like the fried pickles but improvements to front counter area and having drinks on hand would do a world of better service.

So grateful to have caught them in their new brick and mortar! I have been lucky enough to find this family at the Festivals, and their food window. I was bummed to have missed the opportunity for the loaded baked potato, and too late for the shrimp and grits, but I love their chicken salad, corn bread, greens, fried catfish, gumbo, you name it. Lucky to have found this gem in Alaska, and the beautiful family that runs it. Not to mention all they do for community members who are struggling. Thank you!

I went there because I was really excited to try soul food out here but I was really disappointed. The staff didn’t care for taking my order at all and seemed like I interrupted them by doing so.
I also never in my entire life had a restaurant put a whole shell on shrimp in my pasta. I have had tail in my pasta, but the whole shell? Why was that ever okay to serve someone that. It’s pure laziness not to just take off the shell. The pasta also had lil bits of shell and arms hidden in the pasta because they mixed it around so I never knew if this next bit would be crunchy or not. The pasta was lack luster as well. It tasted over peppered and under seasoned somehow I genuinely hope you never serve someone this again. I will not be back.

I was looking for a new place to eat locally for my niece’s birthday, and we were pleasantly surprised when we came here. The menu is unique, the food is wonderful, the staff is kind and considerate. The setting is uplifting, there’s positive messages, beautiful cultural artwork, and some games you can play while you wait or to keep the children entertained. I’m grateful to the staff for creating a positive dining experience. Definitely recommend visiting!

Amazing food! Highly recommend the gumbo. Although everything my group ordered received rave reviews by the individual consumer.

Also, the sweet tea tasted like any proper southern tea. Hit the spot both for the nostalgia and taste.

We also had fun playing the games while waiting for our food.

Great Fried Okra and red beans and rice. Love what they are doing for the community and we will continue to support this soul food business.

I got the cat fish soul food platter. Let me tell you. This is AMAZING, flavorful, Mac & cheese is perfect. The greens are top notch. This place is top tier when it comes to soul food In the valley. Make sure your pockets are ready, because you will be SATISFIED & have food for later.

We’ve eaten here several times and will continue to. Food is wonderful with generous portions. We fell in love with soul food when we were on vacation and stopped in New Orleans for a weekend. We thought we’d never find good soul food back home and couldn’t believe we found this gem right up the street from our house. We love you guys!

I ordered the stuffed turkey leg with the sausage and chicken gumbo and it was marvelous. Everything was delicious and drinks were included! I have seen people complaining about their prices, but, in my opinion, the price is justified knowing that it’s family run and very hard to serve food cheap enough to make it worth the owners time and money. The staff was so friendly and made sure our experience was amazing. The wait for my food to be served was less than five minutes and they even walked it to my car, which was so nice because it was freezing cold and very windy. On another note: The menu is small because they serve different things every day, a concept similar to what food trucks do. Every time you go, you get to try something new and homemade! The hours of the business are updated and posted on Facebook, and they depend on how much food they have prepared for the day. If you need to know if they are open/still serving, just call the number posted. Several people mentioned these things in the reviews, but they are easily solved with a little googling. Triple A’s was great and I will be going back! Thank you guys. I really missed my moms southern cooking, and this hit the spot.
