I live in the Bronx and the Trini food around here is just okay. My family and friends kept telling me about Trinciti Roti so I finally made the drive to check it out. Best 30 minutes from the Bronx to Queens I ever spent.
Got there before lunch and the line was crazy long. That tells you something. But it moved fast. My shrimp roti was so good. The pholorie and doubles were amazing too. Plenty of toppings for everything. I also grabbed rice, callaloo, and stew fish for my wife and she loved it.
A little pricey but worth it. Food is great, place is clean, staff is friendly. If you can order by phone or online, do it. They have bake and shark but only on weekends, which is a bummer. Go try it. You’ll thank me later.

They keep it moving in this small neighborhood shop and we love them for it. The food is exceptional and affordable. The cheapest best oxtails I’ve had ever. $19 oxtail lunch is unheard of. The doubles were $3. Amazing. Can’t wait to return

As you will find with most Caribbean restaurants, service is mediocre at best. I can rant about how they ignore some people for others and whatever else, but that’s not the point of this review.
I am strictly talking about the food specifically the “Bake and Shark”. It is everything and then some. I promise you won’t regret it, it’s a large serving that I’ve never been able to finish in one sitting. The other food is also good, but I haven’t had much else on the menu except the doubles.

For my first time it wasn’t a great experience I ordered the curried duck with buss up, shrimp doubles , side of curried mango and 3dhal puree , coconut cake, the flavor of the food excellent how ever , there was much bone where was the meat on the duck ? And the mango I got much SKIN only and seed that’s very disrespectful. When I go to Sugard in Brooklyn and order curried mango I gets mango not skin!!! Especially after spending $49 no I need so kinda refund or another order because that was skin and bones I got

Very busy experience inside. I recommend ordering ahead and calling beforehand for fastest service

We hosted an 18 person Trini potluck and the catering order went well. Thank you!

Order: 1 chicken roti with pumpkin
1 shrimp buss up with pumpkin
2 shrimp doubles
2 plain doubles

Received 1 chicken buss up without pumpkin
1 shrimp buss up with pumpkin
2 shrimp doubles
2 plain doubles

The chicken and shrimp were EXTREMELY OILY! The buss up has no taste! I was charged for pumpkin and didn’t receive it. Safe to say I am thoroughly disappointed. The shrimp doubles were tasty though. $54 for oil..sigh

Saw this establishment on “David’s been here” on YouTube, and thought to visit, my husband and I. As soon as we walked in, the place had a long line, still inside the restaurant though and the line went pretty quick. I ordered 8 doubles 2 chicken, 1 goat and the rest plain. My husband ordered doubles and an Oxtail Aloo pie. The doubles were so good, I enjoyed every bite! I don’t know how the chicken doubles tasted, as those were not for me, but the goat was great. My husband also ordered a “Melody cake” and omg, bomb! Service can be worked on by the line workes. Other than that the atmosphere was cool, no place to eat inside, eat and go…the AC was blasting, so it felt nice inside waiting in this summer heat. They do have a refrigerator with a variety of drinks, they also have a few popular carribean snacks for sell and some bakery items.

Wanted some authentic trini food while in Queens & was really impressed with Trinciti! I had a doubles with shrimp which was huge & delicious! My boyfriend has the doubles with oxtail and said they were generous with his portion and it was Great! We also had the bake & shark which was a 10/10! Although just a heads up they only serve bake & shark on weekends. Also I would recommend ordering online before because it gets really crowded & busy! Can’t wait to try trinciti again:)

I made this initial review in 2024. I’m here to update after going back again around my birthday. So here goes…

I came back to get a few more things August 2025. I’m updating it to 5 stars because the food is food. Initially it was 4 stars.

Shark and bake or Bake and shark; however you want to call it is a 10/10!!!!! Excellent fish sandwich. One of the best I ever had. It’s over $20 and you pay for it separately. It’s available Fri/Sat/Sun. I got mine without pepper sauce and tomatoes. They added chadon beni sauce, extra tamarind sauce, pineapple and everything else. Please get this! It’s excellent!

Goat curry with buss up shot. 10/5! This is the only way I’ll ever eat Trinidadian roti again. I can’t do the wrap, but that paratha roti is everything!!!! Tasty, flavorful and I had so much I had to split it into two days!

Shrimp doubles 5/5. Very good! Get it with mango chutney sour, tamarind sauce and chadon beni sauce. They never have cucumber and I hope they do in the future.

Oxtail/goat/chicken doubles. Just get them. I don’t do the pepper sauce, but everything else works in it. 5/5.

Cake slice. It was good, not sure I’ll repurchase although I liked it a lot. Only if I was craving something sweet. 4/5 rating.

Rice and peas, oxtail with pumpkin… 20/10. The oxtail was succulent and juicy. The pumpkin (which I love) tasted sweet but savory. Rice and peas were equally as good! I really enjoyed this dish. It’s like $20 but they give you a lot of food!

This place is hectic! I wasn’t always big into Trinidadian food but I came here one Saturday in June (forgetting to write a review) and I’ll say this; the lines are long, it’s loud and there’s an obnoxious guy directing you to move up in line.

When you are ready to order, there are at least 20 people serving customers. You’ll have your own “personal” server, that gets everything you want for you. Plus they move as fast they can be!

Pelau 5/5. Had the chicken pelau and it was good. Very tasty and delicious. It’s similar to a pilaf as well. Get it.

Pholourie 10/5. My fav Trinidadian dish. They give you a lot of tamarind sauce without attitude.

Doubles 10/5. Got them with and without meat. They’re good. Next time I’ll get them with cucumber.

Roti 3/5. I’m not that crazy about roti. It was good but not memorable. I wouldn’t get it again.

Currant roll 10/5. Absolutely delicious. I only got one but will get more next time. Flaky buttery crust too, the baker does a good job on this.

Solo Sorrel 10/5. I love this flavor. Get it!!!!!

Chicken soup 10/5. Got the large here. It was very good!

All in all, they made me fall in love with Trini food. I’ll only get it from here from now on. Come, the hype is real!
