We had a wonderful evening out with friends it was our first time to experience Trilby’s.
We dinned 11/21/25 the first impression was over the top and it got even better walking to our table. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas, very beautiful and no details were left out. We sat in the back dining room with all the gorgeous live oaks drenched and white Christmas lights. Ladies they will bring you a marble stand to put your handbags on so that your experience purse will not be on the floor. We started with cocktails and appetizers stuffed figs, calamari, both delicious. We all got something different
The Burger, Chicken piccata, Chicken pot pie, The Pompano fish. Everyone took pictures because it was presented in fine dining experience. Everyone loved their dinner. Our server was Sam she took excellent care of us. I made a birthday cake to celebrate my birthday they cut it and served it. I told them to take the rest of the cake and share with all of the staff. Several came out to thank us and said it was delicious that nobody has treated the whole staff to cake. If you’re looking for a place to have a staff, family, friends Christmas party this is the place to be.

Trilbys Restaurant in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, offers an unforgettable dining experience in a beautifully restored space that combines old-world charm with modern updates. The original restaurant has been thoughtfully restored, and the decor strikes a perfect balance between elegance and warmth, with a stunning bar right at the entrance setting the stage for a welcoming atmosphere. Each dining room has its own unique charm, with crisp white tablecloths creating the perfect setting for fine dining.

The menu at Trilbys is carefully curated, offering an array of delicious choices that cater to a variety of tastes. Their beverage menu includes a solid selection of beers, wines, and expertly crafted cocktails. For appetizers, we tried the bacon-wrapped dates, which were absolutely delicious—perfectly sweet, savory, and satisfying. The salad starter, a chopped salad, was complemented by their homemade blue cheese dressing, which was simply amazing and a standout on the table.

For our main courses, we all opted for fish entrées, and we were not disappointed. The fish was fresh and expertly prepared, with each dish perfectly cooked. The à la carte style allows you to select from a variety of delicious sides, and we chose the brussels sprouts, which were tender and flavorful, making the meal even more enjoyable.

The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Trilbys is the perfect spot for a special evening out—whether you’re treating yourself to a fantastic meal or looking for a romantic setting. The combination of delicious food, charming atmosphere, and excellent service makes it a top choice for anyone in Ocean Springs looking for a memorable dining experience.

My favorite thing I got to eat was the French Onion Soup. Some of the best I’ve had. The other dishes were okay but I would not order them again. The crab cakes texture was as if it were undercooked, where I like mine with a crunchy outside, but it did have a good flavor. I also got the steak frites with truffle fries and although the steak had a really good flavor some pieces were tough and non chewable. Truffle fries were average, but I wanted to dip them in some ketchup lol
I had to add a pic of my purse sitting on a marble topped stool they brought me so it wouldn’t have to sit on the floor, so I thought that was cool. Overall a very nice atmosphere but I won’t rush back, but I’d definitely go get me some soup Togo!

First time at this classic restaurant in Ocean Springs. Really enjoyed most of the dishes, very impressive presentation. For starters the green tomatoes and tuna were exceptional. Other standouts were the French onion soup and shrimp with grits main course. Pesto was good but cappellini is not easy to do well, maybe spaghetti would work better. Attentive service throughout the meal, highly recommended.

Unfortunately did not have a good first experience at Trilbys. For reference, I come from a culinary background, have ran family owned steakhouses as a chef, and now work in beef/seafood sales so a good steak is always something I’m on the hunt for.

To start, the ambiance and staff were very friendly they were never an issue really. The issues started when I ordered the gumbo. A gentlemen came out a couple minutes after and asked if I would be ok without the rice with it as it had been sitting for a few hours and was no good. I said ok and the gumbo was still good, but at the end, they didn’t even offer to discount or present anything to show they were sorry. Just charged full price for a dish that was only 60% there. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as well but ate one and did not finish. They tasted as if they were blanched and just reheated boiled or in water. They were very limp and lacked flavor.

Both my guest and I ordered Ribeyes. Both came out cooked perfectly but had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The beef itself was good, but it tasted like they just cooked it with no seasoning at all and just had a light sauce underneath. We let the server know but she did not seem very interested in grabbing a side of seasoning or offering to make it right. She offered to take it back, but as the only two people in the restaurant that’s hard to do for some people and my guest didn’t feel comfortable doing so. For $68, a small starter salad and no sides, seems like a stretch especially with local competition offering superior flavors and substance of food to fill you up for similar or better prices.

For desert I got the bread pudding which was great but for being the cheapest thing we got, and being the best thing we ate, didn’t really make us feel good about paying the near $240 tab for two people. Overall wouldn’t recommend unless it’s just for desert. Will not be coming back for a while most likely.

First time visiting on Christmas Eve. Service was outstanding! Our waitress was attentive, offered helpful suggestions and seemed to really enjoy her job and customers. The french onion soup and bacon wrapped fig appetizers were very good. The chicken picatta and filet mignon were excellent as was the tableside Bananas Foster.

Theresa and Trenton were great and provided excellent service! Hubs and I split the bacon-wrapped Figs, Crabcakes, Chicken Pot Pie, Wedge Salad, and Peach Cobbler. All were delicious. We can’t wait to come back and try their dinner menu.

Ok, look… I’m not an upscale guy with an upscale palate coming from an upscale culinary background who claims to know all there is to know about upscale cuisine. However, I do like to eat but I’m just a blue collar guy who has worked hard his whole life and on rare occasions, will go out and splurge on a good meal.

I took my girlfriend to Trilby’s 3 nights ago to celebrate her birthday. We haven’t been out to a nice, “upscale” restaurant in several years, so I asked her if she’d like to go try it out. I’ve learned it’s better to do that than to try and surprise her. A surprise almost always backfires and we end up with carry out pizza or just sitting at home eating mac & cheese out of a box… Anyway, she pulled up the menu online and immediately told me it was too expensive. I told her it was not too expensive for a special occasion and this was a special occasion. She agreed to go… I made us a reservation for 6:00 pm the night before her birthday.

We were able to park right out front which was nice and easy on my rickety old knees. Just a few steps and we were going in the front door. I was impressed the first moment we entered. The place was beautiful and immaculate! It had the charm of an older building but with an “upscale” (there’s that word again) vibe. We were greeted by a smiling hostess who took us down a hallway toward the main dining room to our table. On the way we noticed several more intimate dining rooms, which had probably been bedrooms many decades ago, and wondered if it cost more to eat in them. Those rooms were also very inviting and seemed to offer a more intimate dining experience.

Once in the large, main dining room our table was in the far right corner. Normally, I would have been elated to be seated in such a spot, but not the case this time. This is the only somewhat negative thing I have to say about the whole experience. You see, there was one other couple in the whole restaurant at this time and we were being seated mere inches from them. I mean, I could almost hear that woman’s heartbeat! They were just as surprised and uncomfortable as we were at the seating arrangement. We did not say anything though, and just took our seats in the lush, comfy chairs. The hostess returned with a “purse stool” for my girlfriend’s purse. That was a first for both of us! Nice touch!

Moment later, our server arrived at the table. The first thing she noticed was that we were right on top of the other couple. She asked us if we’d like to move, as if she could read our minds. Of course, we accepted the offer and were seated at a nearby table at a more comfortable distance from any other patrons. Problem solved!

Let’s get to the food!

Rarely do we order appetizers, but this was her birthday meal and I wanted the full experience for her. So much has been said in other reviews about the bacon wrapped figs, and the server did suggest those to us, but we opted for the calamari, instead. Now, I’m sure those figs are good, as many have said, but I can only vouch for the calamari, which was amazing! Not only the taste, but the presentation was on point, as well. It looked very appetizing and my mouth is watering as I’m writing this just at the memory of it.

We then placed our order for the main course. My little 5’2″ Asian girlfriend loves Ribeye steak, so that’s what she ordered with a side of asparagus. I went for the Filet with sides of garlic smashed potatoes, and mushroom and sweet pea risotto.
When our main course arrived, the server had us both cut into our steaks to see if the cook met our expectations. They were both cooked perfectly! Now, if there’s one thing I don’t like, it would be bland steak. I have no problem asking a server for some A-1 sauce if the steak is too dry and/or tasteless. Let me assure anyone who has the patience to read all this, OUR STEAKS WERE DELICIOUS! They were both seasoned well with plenty of flavor. If that ribeye had been bland, believe me when I tell you, I would have heard about it. Nope, her reaction to the first bite was, “Oh, my God!”
I’m out of space. GO THERE!!
