Another gem of a place in small real American town Let my wife do the local tv personality “shop” but I wanted to get lunch local. Saw this place was just a block or so away and read the reviews so decided to go. We were not disappointed. Normally a Texan would not recommend Oklahoma bbq but this place was awesome. Great smoke on the meats and the beans and cheesy potato were amazing as well.
As far as service the couple who operates it are awesome super friendly people like you would want to experience in rural American. Next time we are back in this part of Oklahoma we will definitely be back
(Sorry for the off kilter building photo )

My wife and I ate there today for the first time. The owners were very inviting, made great conversation and told us all about the menu. The food was really good. I had the ribs, hot sausages and the cheesy potatoes and also this really tasty rice with hamburger and other spices cooked. My wife had the pulled pork and the cheesy potatoes. We were absolutely stuffed, the meats were great, large quantity and the pulled pork was actually juicy and pulled apart. I can’t wait to go there again.

So visiting the pioneer woman we didn’t have time to wait to eat at her restaurant. So we looked at the BBQ in the area and went off a 4.2 overall rating. I don’t agree. I have traveled all over and tried a lot of BBQ. This place I will not return. The pulled pork I got was cold. The sauce was from a gallon container at the counter. The cawlslaw was dry and need more flavor. The cheese potato was good. The beans are good. The atmosphere is neat and a lot to look at but I won’t be back and next time I will wait for the restaurant.

Best BBQ I’ve had in a long while!
This is the place you’re hoping to find when you say, “I want a good local place!”
Friendliest staff ever. Incredible service. House sauce that is just right. Generous portions.
Truly Local Flavor.
Already planning my next trip

This place is fantastic! The owner clearly treats each customer with individual courtesy each meal is made with the intent that it is as important as any other meal. From the complimentary moon pies to the delicious BBQ. I can’t recommend this place enough. Stop in and try any of the meats, they’re all perfectly smoked and seasoned. Great place!

The BEST bbq we have ever had. We were late enough that we had to settle for pulled pork and bologna. The sauce is homemade, duh…the sides are not an after thought, they are incredible. The beans are worth the trip by themselves.

Absolutely fantastic ribs! Brisket was a tad dry by itself, but link it up with their delicious BBQ sauce fixed it right up! Great place to eat in Pawhuska. We’ll be back!

Extremely wonderful folks run this restaurant. It is a small building with limited seating but our group of ten did not have any issues. Personally, I enjoy everything on their menus and the owners are attentive to their guests.

Every restaurant allows you the opportunity to taste a different family’s favorite recipes – and this one was enjoyed by 9 guys and myself. Thank you for an excellent meal!

Those giving poor reviews of this place were probably Hangry from waiting in line at an establishment which is worth several million dollars and expected the same experience at a separate establishment but took their frustrations out in the review column… .

Clean dining and really friendly staff. The smoker and the food smelled really delicious. I had the three meat plate with spare ribs, brisket and pulled pork along with “cheesy taters” as well as the beans. I really wanted to give Trigger’s four stars. The ribs and brisket were both dry. The pulled pork was just right. However, maybe it was my taste buds, I just couldn’t taste any of the smoke. The portions were slightly on the generous side compared to other BBQ places I’ve been lately but I don’t feel that makes up for higher prices I’ve seen. Then again prices for most stuff is higher these days. I will say the staff said the coleslaw didn’t make the cut that day so they didn’t serve the coleslaw and I thought that says something for their standards.

I had the chance to try Trigger’s BBQ, so I took the shot! The old building is well maintained and very nicely decorated with a first responder feel. Fire hoses on the walls and the other memorabilia add a great vibe! I ordered the two meat plate with Ribs, Pulled Pork, Coleslaw and Okie Beans. The sauce is thick enough to be homemade and it has obvious pieces of pepper in the mix making it very good. To serve it in the old style pop bottles is a great touch! The Ribs had a decent smoke ring, good bark, and firm yet tender mouthfeel. The flavor was not overly smokey and they didn’t fall off the bone (not a bad thing IMO). I do think they could have been cooked a little longer without drying them out. I like to eat them when the cartilage is softer. The pulled pork had a great bark, great flavor and had just enough fat to make it super tasty and keep it moist. The sides were both amazing. The Coleslaw was a apple cider/raspberry (I think) vinegar base that provided enough tartness to cut the sweet of the sauce and the beans. The Okie Beans stole the show for me. I’m not sure what part of exotic OK the spices come from ( :-), but the beans are the most unique BBQ beans I have ever had in Oklahoma. The addition of hamburger and teh balance of sweet and unique spice mixture was spot. Smoking the dish made them that much better! The bread feels and tastes homemade to me with subtle rye characteristic, so whatever they are doing to provide it keep it up! I drank a bottle of I washed it down with a bottle of deVine Natural Artisanal Water that is bottled locally in Jet, OK….who knew? Great Place and I will be back!
