It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want a posh bar, this isn’t for you. If you want a hipster bar, this isn’t for you. If you want a river view sexy bar, this isn’t for you. BUT, if you want a quality dive bar that welcomes you like family, this is for you. If you want a bar that serves true locals, this is for you. If you want to meet hard working people that share historical tales AND current experiences on the river and sea, this is for you.

Love this little dive bar. Been drinking here for twenty years. I’m glad they finally cleaned up the decor. It was weird and over stimulating before and made it look dirty. My bartender was great. Played some pool. The location is good as theirs plenty of food options around. And the under the bridge park is just out the back door.

Wow, just walked in and ordered a specific drink that was apparently too complicated for the fat, slob male bartender that refused to serve me, because he felt I didn’t need to drink. 54 yrs old and never been denied service in my life. Walked a block away and didn’t have a problem at 1926 tavern. SHAME ON YOU. Seemed like a locals only bar and I didn’t fit in. Do better. P.S. I see another customer had issues with him. I also heard from other locals he has an attitude. He doesn’t need tips that bad, apparently. They said his name is Travis.

Went on Friday daytime to watch the soccer game and had a great time and Ashleigh was great but went in on Saturday night and the guy rejected my ID (the same one that Ashleigh accepted the day before) as the bartender ‘wasn’t familiar’ with it. Huge disappointment and such a shame as there was 4 of us and we were planning on spending the night (and a good amount of cash) in there. Went to another bar and got speaking to customers in there who have had issues with the same bartender in the past too.

An all around great watering hole for both the local and adventurous passer- by . Helpful bartenders familiar with the best of Astoria serve drinks both ice cold and hot; knowledgeable and fair in price. I recommend Triangle Tavern whole-heartedly to any and all.
