Overall it’s an ok experience. We didn’t find the meals authentic. We ordered xiaolongbao, crispy noodle with chicken, twice cooked pork. Patrons were decent. Mostly non-Asian. So you know what that means: Americanized. But the place was clean and service was professional (quick and attentive). If you’re not looking for ‘real’ Shanghainese or Sichuan food, you might be ok with this place.

Generous portions was provided. I was happily surprised by the food and my friend loved it so much that asked for place name Vegetarian options also available. Chrysanthemum tea for those who want herbal (naturally, no caffeine) options. They also have delivery and pick up. Super close to the 77th Street train station. If driving, may be tougher to get parking but there’s the $12+ per half hour parking garages nearby. If you want to visit someone at the Lenox Hill hospital, there’s that around the corner from too. Highly recommend.

Food arrived so quickly and smelled soothing and delicious so I missed taking a photo. I did head home with enough leftovers for additional meal. Generous portions. Attention to the table. Great food made for a quiet, enjoyable evening.

Dumplings and scallion pancakes were great. Entrees were less desirable.

As a Shanghainese relocating into NYC, Tri Dim has very good quality Chinese food and great service. Nice dinner place in Manhattan! Empty plate says it all 🙂

Respectfully, because reviews can be someone’s livelihood for the restaurant’s employees especially in this economy… but the food, absolutely horrendous & overpriced. Can honestly say the food @ the “hood” corner chinese spots are on the same level or even better because those combinations are cheaper.

Hopefully, the restaurant can do better – food & just overall vibe was with the servers & a particular hostess… doubtful because the neighborhood may not know better & think that quality of chinese food is acceptable.

Godspeed

Delicious dumplings, we really enjoyed the chicken chili dumplings. Service was great, they never let our waters empty. Good prices too.

I have frequented this establishment several times over the last 2 years. Each time the experience worsens. The staff is very arrogant and not friendly at all. The food is mostly frozen the the Duck is quite FOUL-TASTING / GAMEY. It is a shame as the room is somewhat nice. This establishment is doing 80% takeout theses days; the restaurant goers are more of a nuisance. The expectation for any gratuity is quite obnoxious and shameful from the staff- There are plenty of Asian establishments that serve better food and have a deeper appreciation for the guest.

For dinner I had the minced chicken with corn soup. Its mild flavor was pleasing. For my main course I ordered what is listed on the menu as braised soft bean curd with mushrooms and bamboo shoots (pictured fried), $17. The bean curd is offered fried or soft, the tastier of the two is the fried one, I have enjoyed both, the fried one more than the soft.
On another evening visit to the restaurant, I had beef with broccoli ($22). The beef was tender, but had no flavor, it had all been cooked away. A little of the flavor was in the juice that came with the dish. The beef dish came with a choice of white or brown rice. The broccoli was tender and tasty.
