Absolutely Amazing.
I saw this place on the Travel Channel. CNN featured it as #22 of the 50 best chinese restaurants in America.
What makes it unique is the chef uses local ingredients and blends cajun style cuisine and ingredients with classic Chinese dishes. I visited in October, which isn’t seafood season, I asked about the Alligator first, and then the crawfish.. The waiter went to the kitchen to ask and was able to get the Tong Cho Crawfish for me even though it was out of season. (Menu Description: Fresh crawfish tails lightly dusted with flour, crisped in hot oil and topped with our sweet hot pepper garlic sauce. A Trey Yuen signature sauce.) Which if you can imagine it is like General Chicken meets Fried Crawfish.
The dish was amazing, the food was piping hot, flavor was amazing, sweet, salty, spicy, crunchy. This dish had everything going on. Bright colors from a mix of vegetables and mixed peppers. I was blown away by the dish.
Thanks to the wait staff, and the kitchens willingness to prepare an out of season dish, I had the best meal of my trip.. The picture doesn’t do it justice.
I will definitely return and introduce some fellow travelers to this gem.

LOVED IT!!! I visited Trey Yuen for the first time and the food was great! The egg rolls are to die for, but they were a little pricey. Mandarin Chicken was good, but wasn’t seasoned enough. Needed a little more salt (I don’t eat a lot of salt). Service was great, but a little slow. The one thing that I do have a complaint about is that you have to purchase the fried rice separately. In my opinion, that should automatically come with the meal. I will definitely go back and do recommend, but don’t expect the absolute best.

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago and wasn’t too impressed with the food. It is more expensive than your usual Chinese/Asian food. The only thing I loved was the environment. The restaurant looks so nice on the inside and has a nice garden outside which includes some Koi fish.. But the food isn’t good to me personally. I had shrimp fried rice which lacked flavor and my boyfriend had a chicken dish (sweet & sour chicken I think?) Which was also not very good. So Cons- food is bland, and it’s expensive. Pros- beautiful garden.

I order takeout. The guy told me it would take 20 minutes. I get there 20 minutes later and no one was at the take out desk. They did not return for 10 minutes. The food then was not ready. 10 minutes later, the take out server brings my food out, only to be missing my almond chicken. She told me she was going to go check on it. She comes back with my crab rangoons and asks me if I received my almond chicken. I told her no and she went back to the kitchen, only to come back and tell me that they forgot to make it and they were working on it. I finally received my food an hour later. I got back to work and the rice was crunchy and the chicken was dry. I cannot expect to go back to this place until they figure out how to organize their system.

Less than impressive. You can telil that once upon a time this place was very well cared for, sadly those days are over. Waiter was inattentive. The food was little better than any food court in any mall or airport in the US. I eat more frequently at the Trey Yen in Mandeville. There is no comparison. The quality there is superior and the property is beautiful and tranquil. If you have time just make the extra drive and so the Hammond restaurant.

Their Double Happiness, Mandarin Chicken and their Egg Rolls are the Best period! ***Warning*** If you eat here all other Chinese Cuisine will be ruined for you. I have eaten Chinese food from California to New York as well as France and Germany and these guys cannot be beaten.

It was terrible. The food was uncooked, and everything was really salty. The table was dirty and super sticky. The plate still had grime on it. I am never going back again. Was really disappointed, and the waitress was coughing and glared at us a lot. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible sanitary. Gross.

Sad to see it close after all these years. Boston and Cade Street restaurants will continue the quality of food and fellowship that we have known for over 40 years in the Amite and Hammond area.

Ate here 7/05/15, 7/06/15 my family and I had horrible stomach problems. Had to be something with the food! We ordered take out, not sure if that has anything to do with the quality of the food.
