I tried Tres Yan and Wu in Mount Laurel, NJ, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The restaurant itself is very nice and upscale, especially compared to most Chinese restaurants in the area. The space feels modern, clean, and elevated, which immediately sets higher expectations going in.
The quality of the food is clearly good, and the flavors are bold and well developed. You can tell care goes into the cooking, and from a taste perspective, the food definitely delivers. That said, the pricing is significantly higher than your typical local Chinese spot, easily about double the price, and unfortunately it does not feel like it is twice as good.
For example, a small lunch General Tso’s chicken was $16, which felt very overpriced for the portion. While the flavor was great, the chicken was a bit soggy, and the shrimp wontons were also soft, which may have been due to the food being takeout and not fresh from the kitchen.
Overall, Tres Yan and Wu offers great flavor and a high end setting, but the value just does not quite match the cost. If price is not a concern, you will probably enjoy the food, but if you are comparing it to classic neighborhood Chinese takeout, it is hard to justify paying that much more for a similar level of satisfaction.

Christmas eve dinner was perfect! Had the best steamed pork dumplings, hot n sour soup to start. Great flavors, not overly salted or greasy. Honey walnut shrimp and Mongolian lamb entrees were amazing! Great service, and despite being crazy busy the service was great! Will be back.

Dining facility looked very nice inside. We did take out. Ordered pad Thai with chicken, Kung pao chicken, Chinese pancakes and hot and sour soup.
Opened the containers and the food looked amazing. But when we tasted it, we were very disappointed! Both me and my daughter looked at each other and said, do we have covid?!
No flavor whatsoever so ever. Overwhelmingly oily was the main flavor of the dishes. This place came highly recommended. So dissatisfying. Maybe we got the cook in training?

Had this Chinese food for the first time. The food quality was good and fresh. It’s a bit pricey for take out. We got two spring rolls and two shrimp dishes for $57. The portions were decent but definitely less than other restaurants.

The prices are a bit high for Chinese food but the dine-in experience is good. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is sophisticated. Some things on the menu aren’t worth the price in my opinion such as the wonton soup (pictured) and the shrimp toast. There’s no longer any sushi but the Mongolian pork/chicken and the fried rice is amazing. Overall a good dine-in restaurant that is local!

Absolutely blown away by today’s lunch at Tres Yan & Wu. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The portion sizes were great, they even have a smaller portion for their lunch special that comes with soup or salad. Will definitely be back!!!

Best Chinese food around. I’m usually not a huge fan of Chinese food, but this place is awesome. We come from PA to eat here. Their house rice is my favorite. The cream cheese crab rangoons bites are delicious too. We always get great food whether we’re dining in or taking out. Servers are attentive and friendly. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. Can’t ask for much more.

This isn’t your ordinary, usual, run of the mill, Chinese food place. The description of this being an open restaurant, with a Pan-Asian style, that’s BYOB is spot on. So along with basic Chinese dishes, you can get Sushi and variations of Pad-Thai.
.
I’ve visited before and the atmosphere immediately gives you the feel of business casual. The music is usually mellow and classical in nature.
.
The food is usually pretty decent and comes in very healthy sized portions. Basically, you’re going to get a lot of food with your entree. This time around I was pleasantly surprised with my appetizer, pan seared scallops (see the picture). I wish they had better quality Oolong tea, in short I wish it wasn’t bagged and rather loose leaves, but that’s just me being picky.
.
It is a little costly to eat here but I stop in once in a while to enjoy a well cooked and prepared Asian meal. The staff is always VERY pleasant and attentive. Diana attended to me during this visit and was awesome.

First time at this Chinese restaurant and I asked for chicken and shrimp fried rice combo (the house fried rice). Owner (i suspect) waited me. I needed to eat there and take away what I ate so I made one order first AND when I liked it, asked for the exact same order for take away. I tipped good but when I got back to my hotel and opened the take away, it was something else in it. Not the house fried rice. I was very clear. I even said ” just like this to go” as I ate and she repeated after me to show me she understood what I was ordering. When i opened the take home order, it was even another color and very salty. I couldn’t eat it. Very dishonest some chinese are. I wasn’t surprised and now even suspected they gave me left overs. I distrust chinese restaurants so much bcos they are naturally dishonest. I figured those with buffets never throw away left overs, they reheat and resell all the time.
