Service was good, even during peak time and they seem to be keeping the place clean.
The atmosphere is impressive. I liked the architectual elements they added and the murals on the walls. Bar flys would love the bar appearance and they have a wide variety of margerhita flavors.
Prices are fair.
One thing i was disappointed about was their “fried” ice cream… all they did was put it in a tortilla bowl and half of it was cool whip. The original fried ice cream from the 1980s was from Chi Chis and was a ball of hard-frozen ice cream wrapped in dough and deep fried.
And the food! Now I’m sometimes skeptical about eating at new ethnic restaurants but I’m so glad we came. The food was delicious!!! I chose the seafood enchiladas and they were the BEST I have ever had!
A full bar was available so we had rum & coke and sangria. The service was top notch. We did not have to wait for a table and our food arrived quickly. We ate during lunch, so I believe this was a factor in our speed of service. But we will definitely be back to try more of the menu and desserts!
My first impressions were not great. I ordered Carnitas, and it seriously took less than five minutes to come out after I ordered. I went early in the day and the place wasn’t packed, but having food come out too quick can be a bad sign and in this case it was. The pork, rice and beans that came with it all were dry, lukewarm at best and flavorless. And the jalepenos that come with it on top the salad mix did not add much heat or blend the flavors very well.
I could tell all the meal portions had probably been prepared first thing before they open and they let everything sit around until they have to make more. This causes food, especially pork, to lose its moisture and hence its flavor. And the refried beans and rice did not taste homemade at all, they probably get both from big box retailers in bulk in premade cans and bags.
Besides the food I ordered, the chips and salsa were not bad but not special, and they give a skimpy amount of said chips and salsa that also tasted watered down. They also don’t have any hot sauces to add onto your dishes sitting on the table, I can’t places that do this.
The decor was nice enough, and the layout was inviting. The server I had was friendly, but overall I probably won’t be returning. There are better Mexican places nearby, nothing about this place’s food stood out or was memorable.
The outside patio was so big and nice!
