I haven’t been to this restaurant before it was my first time. I ordered ground beef nachos. The service was great! No complaints! The food was mediocre to say the least. The chips tasted like they came from a bag. I know freshly fried chips and these were not them! I am not into chips from the bag if I would’ve known this I would’ve ordered something else. Of course, nachos are made with chips so it was all downhill from there. The salsa was flavorless. It just tasted like watered down tomato something. It had no spice at all and no bite. I only ate 2 chips and a little salsa. It very disappointing. I asked for spicy salsa and the server brought it to me in a squeeze bottle and it was not much better. (see photos attached). The only thing spicy was the jalapeños. The entree had to much cheese on it. It was overloaded by thick cheese. I only ate a small amount of the dish and I left the rest on the table. The restaurant was very busy. I went around noon yesterday. If I go back I will order something different and stay away from the nachos and the chips. I saw other people’s food and the wet burritos looked delicious. They were big and about the price as the nachos.

This place is quickly becoming my favorite place for Mexican food. I would recommend everyone try this place at least once, I’ll bet you’ll come back a second time. It’s a simple place with a relaxing atmosphere. But that’s why I like it. They have a good sized menu and the service has always been great each time I have gone. I think they are reasonable priced for the portion size, which is a lot! You will get full eating here! I’ve had the Fajita Burrito, the pork carnitas plate and the chicken taquitos so far. One of these times I’m going to try the nachos. They look amazing based on the pictures from other people’s reviews. I’ll definitely be going back!
Update 7/27/23: Went back recently and tried the nachos! They are really good as well! I do wish they used liquid cheese, but I still enjoyed them. I took some photos to share. Also, the Whipped Orange drink they offer is AMAZING! Love this place!

I visited today and ordered nachos. The size of the dish was very good for the price paid. The staff is super friendly and they check on you during your meal and offer extra chips and salsa. Customer service is excellent! See photos attached of my food. It was so big I could not finish it. It was fresh and tasty and the salsa is nice and chunky. Definitely worth a visit for a nicely priced lunch!

Food was so excellent. It was so good I was scraping the plate. The ladies working the back was nice and friendly. The atmosphere was very homey and relaxed. When ordering I asked for no sauce on enchiladas because my first time and they were able to explain that if it doesn’t have the sauce, the enchiladas will be hard. We compromised and they served it with light sauce! Overall I recommend anyone that enjoys Mexican cuisine this is on your list to go to. ❤️

Tried this for the first time because I heard it was good. Ordered the Macho Burrito. Was super excited to try it. Opened it up and noticed the order was on a paper plate wrapped in tin foil. I’ve been to alot of Mexican restaurants all over, this is the tackiest thing I have seen. Never have had this happen. It’s always on a foam tray. This is really cheap and reflects poorly on the restaurant. The worst issue, the neat was pretty pink inside the burrito. I requested shredded beef. It should all be brown. So much of it was pink I didnt even wanna eat the burrito. Disgusting! Made me not even wanna eat at any Mexican restaurant anymore. Cannot believe this. Dont even go here. El Herradero is way better! Never have had an experience like this at El Herradero or anywhere else. I should have known from the order being put on a paper plate wrapped in tin foil that there was gonna be an issue. Tackiest thing I have ever seen.

They served us raw chicken! I have been eating here off an on throughout the years and never had a problem. But lately I feel as if things have been going down-hill. Not only did both our dishes have raw chicken but my girlfriend had a 3 inch long chicken bone in her burrito. We were absolutely disgusted and had to leave.
A few months ago I also saw a large mouse in the chicken. I was willing to let it slide as it’s a known problem around town but this is downright unacceptable and we will never be going back!

Great food! I’m happily stuffed with food left on my plate. They have excellent Verde and Colorado, and they have some of the best burgers in Chubatello. And the service is always pleasant and delightful.
