Trempealeau Hotel, Restaurant and Saloon

  4.5 – 694 reviews   • Modern European restaurant

Restaurant, bar and music venue on the banks of the Mississippi. Food made from scratch using responsibly sourced ingredients. Regional beer and cider, signature cocktails and a smart wine selection attract locals and tourists. Musicians impress with regular singer/songwriter Sundays and all genres possible most Fridays and Saturdays. Rooms range from modest sleeping rooms with shared bath to suites with river views, Jacuzzi and gas fireplace. Warm and welcoming vibe. The large deck and yard look over the river and bluffs. Look up—the Mississippi is a migratory pathway for many birds. Trains and barges are frequent and add to the overall charm. Minutes from Perrot State Park, Upper Mississippi Wildlife Refuge and Great River Bike Trail.

Always a nice place to stop on a Sunday drive. Friendly and welcoming. A little too hot for me sit outside, but lots of room outside to enjoy the sun!

Really great food and beer, especially for such a small town. The view from the deck can’t be beat! A great place too for kids to run around, including a basketball court to keep them occupied while parents enjoy a beverage and conversation.

Tremendous experience – beautiful location, great menu and staff always ready to help. I would highly suggest anything walnut burger related. Super tasty!! Grab a drink, order some food and then head for the porch to view the Mississippi while you are waiting for your order. Very comfortable restaurant with fantastic views

This restaurant is definitely a “destination” for dinner. A little expensive but worth every penny. Had an absolutely superb pork chop with braised brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken pot pie was done to perfection with a flaky crust top. Our dinner was preceded by a stupendous flat bread appetizer.

What a lovely spot! Right on the river with gorgeous views. We had the pleasure of having drinks outside in the sunshine, watching live music indoors, enjoying a delicious dinner plus staying in the hotel – utilizing all features. I can say with confidence – this place is awesome! Staff super friendly too.

It is so nice to hear a great band on a Sunday afternoon. Annie and bang, bang were very good. You can’t get such events without great venues like the Trempeleau Hotel!

My husband and I went here over the weekend. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever had! The service was great and the food was even better. We tried the Walnut Balls and they were pretty good. It was like walnuts and stuffing formed into a ball. The homemade honey mustard that came with them was amazing. I also had the chicken and rice soup and it was delicious. For my entree, I had the shrimp and gnocchi and I am still telling my husband about how fabulous it was. He ordered the meatloaf and I tried some and I couldn’t decide which dish was better! I have nothing bad to say about this place and if I am ever in Trempealeau again, I know where I am going to eat.
