We were genuinely disappointed with our experience and, unfortunately, would not return based on this visit.

At this price point—especially on a big night out—the care and intention just weren’t there. The short rib was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. The focaccia itself was good, but the olive oil served with it was noticeably under-seasoned. The caprese salad had large salt flakes that overwhelmed the dish, and the spicy pasta was dominated by bell pepper to the point that it overpowered everything else. I understood the concept, but the balance wasn’t there.

Service and atmosphere felt inconsistent. There were two large, very bright TVs playing sports that cast white light across the dining room, which felt out of place for what’s presented as a classic Italian restaurant—especially on Valentine’s weekend. The music shifted from pop-punk to classical during dinner, adding to the lack of cohesion. Our server couldn’t remember the two specials (short rib and salmon), which was surprising.

I noted in our reservation that this was for my wife’s birthday (not Valentine’s Day), but there was no acknowledgment of it. From the time we sat down, it took about 10 minutes to receive water.

The manager and chef walked the dining room checking on tables, but the interaction felt more obligatory than intentional. More attention to execution in the kitchen might have made a bigger impact than table-side check-ins.

There are intimate, romantic-looking spaces within the restaurant that appear to be part of a private club (offices, golf simulator, speakeasy-style bar). Seeing those spaces while walking through creates an odd contrast and makes the main dining area feel secondary.

I understand how difficult it is to run a restaurant, and I don’t take leaving a critical review lightly. But this was a meaningful night and a significant expense, and the overall experience did not match the expectation. I genuinely hope they improve and would welcome the opportunity for the restaurant to reach out.

We were so excited to try this new restaurant for lunch today but unfortunately it didn’t quite meet our expectations- hoping they are still working things out as they just opened last week. Their pizza oven was down which was a bummer but they did give us a coupon to come back another time for a future free pizza! Atmosphere was very cute and would be great for a large group as they have a lot of large tables. The salad, along both my pasta and my friends pasta, were so under seasoned we actually had to ask for salt and pepper which I’ve never ever done before and was slightly embarrassing… also quite pricey for the what you get and the quality of the food. Service also pretty slow for a Monday lunch, if they want to cater to the work crowd they are definitely going to have to pick up the pace. Overall not bad but not great, hoping to give it another try in a few weeks!

We went on their grand opening day since we were in the area. We ordered a mocktail, a pizza, a pasta entree and some dessert.

Service here was super friendly and surprising fast for it being their first day open. Their pizza and tiramisu were the stand out menu items for us. Their tiramisu was served in a chilled glass cup and was perfectly sweet. You could really taste the coffee without it being too strong or bitter. For the pizza, we got a classic with added pepperoni and ranch on the side. They have a huge wood fire oven behind their bar so we got to watch it being made. It was crispy around the edges with light sauce which is exactly how I like my pizza.
I wish their caesar salad had a little more dressing on it, it was pretty dry and left you wanting something more. The ravioli was delish and buttery, I would love to come back to try their cacio e pepe.

Overall, the restaurant was super cute and not too big. Service was good and food was good. I will come back in a couple months once they settle in a little bit more.

I read an article on CityBeat that there would be new restaurant opening up and thought it would be a good spot for lunch.
My initial though was that the restaurant had a nice, retro/modern look to it. Good options when it comes to alcohol choices. When it comes to the menu, I’m not sure if they will expand their cocktail menu (since it was opening day) but as of right now there are only 3 choices, plus mocktails and beer. I am not going to judge too hard on the service as opening days can get hectic, i was one of the first few in so the service was fast and then it started to become slower as more people came in. (I will make a note, it was mentioned in couple articles that if you came in for lunch on opening day, you would receive a coupon for a free pizza on future visit, but even after asking about it to my server, I never got one…so is that fake advertisement?) In addition, I also was not able to take home my pizza dips that I paid for because they didn’t have any small containers which was unfortunate.
Food came out pretty quick and it was pretty delicious, just wish the undercarriage of the pizza had more time to cook to get that real fire wood taste, basil was a nice touch.
My favorite dish was the Beef Carpaccio, it had a really good balance of sweet and salty with uniquely crafted chips. In my opinion it is a little bit pricey for what you get, especially if you want add dips and toppings on your pizza.

Cute place, nice decor, however, you can’t eat that. Four of us for dinner last week. One reason was the somewhat limited menu, we foolishly thought this might lead to attention to the food. The Caeser looked good on the menu – finally – someone putting anchovies in it. Sadly, it was a pile of chopped romaine with some lemony dressing – no hint of anything remotely resembling a “classic” Caesar. There was so much cheese grated on it too, just a nothing salad. I ordered the Casarecce and Spice. I don’t know where the “house made ricotta” was, it was just…. macaroni wth sausage. Ok. I got the full, brought half home because I’m not tossing $22 worth of macaroni. My companion ordered the meatballs. They were very hard and chewy, you wonder how an Italian place messes up a meatball. The dish came overloaded with “foccacia” which was unlike anything any of us had had. It was not dense and chewy and flavorful, but high and light and crunchy. Underwhelming. We even ordered a side thinking we’d enjoy it, but no. Olive appetizer was salty. I don’t understand the “roasted” part, they were just warm and salty and tasted remotely of cinnamon. Staff was very pleasant but main dish took forover, and they were not really that busy on Thursday night, at least when we got there. Once we were served, no one came to check, ran out of water, only came back to present bill. I’d not return due to boring food. For me a $50 meal of…. macaroni.

So Good!! =D I got their Ricotta Gnocchi and I hope they never take it off the menu. The gnocchi was the perfect texture and the butter sage sauce was delicious! I even got the half size and it was plenty. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend!! Will definitely be back

Fantastic food and service. The space is a little small but the food is top tier especially for the price.

I was really disappointed with Trecento. The food didn’t live up to the hype at all—flavors were bland and portions felt small for the price. Service was slow and inattentive, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The overall atmosphere felt more style than substance, and nothing about the experience stood out in a good way. For the cost, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend Trecento or return.

New* downtown fav for Italian food. Very nice atmosphere. Located a couple blocks from / between Fountain Square and the Banks.

Excellent service. I stopped by for lunch and enjoyed the meatballs side (served with focaccia and great red sauce) and a San Pellegrino.

I’ve now given this spot two chances, and sadly, both visits left me disappointed. I came in hoping for an authentic Italian dining experience, but what I got was far from it.

First off, the cocktails. They were overly sweet and lacked the balance that a good Italian drink should have. I love a good aperitivo, but these felt more like sugary desserts in a glass than the refreshing start to a meal I was expecting.

As for the food, the dishes arrived lukewarm, which is never a good sign. It’s hard to enjoy pasta when it’s not hot and fresh, and unfortunately, that was the case here. The flavors were bland—nothing popped or felt like it had the depth you’d expect from Italian cuisine. If anything, the dishes felt like they were missing something essential. The sauces were underwhelming, and overall, the food lacked that rich, comforting Italian warmth.
