Tonight I found the kind that stays. When I first got there I was not just welcomed to the restaurant I was welcomed into their family. Every single second I was there the staff was constantly waiting on us with a smile and helping us in every way they could. The food was the greatest Italian food I have ever had and I will never see Italian food the same after tonight. The owner himself all I can say is that he is a legend and I would love for him to MC my wedding one day. By the end of the meal I realized something simple but beautiful. The best restaurants aren’t just places where people cook. They’re places where people care. And tonight reminded me that when food is made with heart, served with kindness, and shared with joy it becomes more than a meal. It becomes a moment you carry with you long after the table is cleared. Somewhere out there the next guest is walking through the door. And if it’s anything like the experience I had they will walk out with some new friends and a new home away from home.
Full Review:
My husband and I went to Trattoria Pampered Chef for Valentine’s Day dinner and unfortunately left feeling really disappointed. We had a 9:00 PM reservation because I’m a nurse and had just worked a 12-hour shift, so we were excited to finally sit down and enjoy a nice Italian meal together.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a gentleman (I’m assuming the manager) who was friendly, but we thought it was strange that we were never asked our name for the reservation — we were just seated immediately. We didn’t mind at first since we figured, hey, at least we got seated quickly.
But within minutes, we started feeling very rushed. A staff member came over almost immediately asking what we wanted to drink. I told her we needed a minute (we literally had just sat down). Then another staff member came shortly after asking the same question. Then the first one returned again — three times total asking what we wanted to drink within just a few minutes.
When I asked if there was a drink menu, I was told we’d have to get up and check the bar. We looked online instead, but the menu just said “Italian wine”, which was not helpful at all. When I asked what kind of sweeter red wine they had, the response was basically: “We just have red wine.” So we ordered their “Italian” wine, which was decent, but still… not the experience you’d expect.
We placed our food order quickly because again, we felt pressured like we needed to hurry up. When our entrées arrived, they honestly weren’t impressive.
I ordered the lobster ravioli, and I hate to say it, but it genuinely tasted like Chef Boyardee. If you blindfolded me, I would have never guessed it was lobster ravioli. I will say I appreciated the two large shrimp they added since lobster ravioli portions are usually small.
My husband ordered the chicken parmesan. The chicken was soft and had decent flavor, but he wished it had more crispiness. What really shocked me was that he didn’t finish his pasta, and when I asked if it was because he didn’t like it, he said yes — the pasta wasn’t good. And trust me, I’ve been with this man for almost two decades… I’ve never seen him leave pasta unfinished.
We arrived at 8:58 PM for our 9 PM reservation and were back out the door before 10 PM, which says a lot. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded, so there was no reason to make us feel like we needed to eat and leave as fast as possible.
The atmosphere also didn’t match the vibe. The music was loud, and instead of an Italian restaurant feel, they were playing loud Cuban music. Normally I wouldn’t mind that (I’m Cuban!), but it just didn’t fit the setting or the Valentine’s Day dinner experience we were hoping for.
My husband really tried to surprise me with a nice dinner, but we honestly left feeling disappointed. I wanted to love this place, but between the rushed service, lack of drink menu, and underwhelming food, I don’t think we’d return.
I also visited the restaurant in person to make the payment, and the dine-in service was just as impressive. We sat down for a meal, and the service was exceptional. It was warm, welcoming, and truly hospitable.
I highly recommend Trattoria Pampered Chef for both catering and dining in. Gabriel and his team go above and beyond to deliver an amazing experience every time.
We started with their calamari fritti, which was perfectly crispy and fresh — you could really taste the quality. They also served delicious warm bread that paired perfectly with their house olive oil. For our main dishes, we had spaghetti with meat sauce and rigatoni with Bolognese — both were outstanding. The pasta was cooked al dente, the sauces were rich and flavorful, and the portions were generous.
Just last Saturday, we ordered catering from them for a special event, and every single dish was a hit. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how good everything tasted! From dine-in to catering, Trattoria Pampered Chef delivers exceptional quality, flavor, and service every time.
We are so happy to have found this gem and will definitely be coming back often. Highly recommend!
