Il menù cambia tutti i giorni, NON abbiamo il freezer, non si usano panne o semilavorati, l’intera nostra spesa giornaliera viene fatta da sempre all’adiacente MERCATO CENTRALE DI FIRENZE. Prenotare allo 055218550 con largo anticipo perché il locale è piccolo. Si consiglia di chiamare al mattino perché durante il servizio spesso non riusciamo sempre a rispondere o squilla talmente tanto che trovereste sempre occupato. Ovviamente la BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA e il RAGÙ più bono di’mondo non mancano mai.

I have had a lot of steaks in my life, but the one at Trattoria Mario was easily one of the best I have ever had. It is a classic, no-nonsense Tuscan spot that has clearly mastered the art of meat, and it is exactly what you hope for when you visit a historic trattoria in Italy. The steak was the absolute highlight, cooked perfectly as per tradition, and the quality was just outstanding.
The place is always very busy and has a great, simple energy. It is technically a lunch-only spot most days, only opening for a few hours from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM. They do not even take reservations, so we were incredibly lucky to get a seat just by taking a chance. Arriving without a booking is a huge gamble, but it paid off for one of the most memorable meals I have had.
It is a must-visit that actually exceeds the high expectations. I would go back in a heartbeat just for that steak alone.

Trattoria Mario is well worth a visit. We came specifically for the T-bone steak and it did not disappoint. We ordered it cooked the traditional way as rare, and it tasted incredible. The price was very reasonable considering the generous size of the steak. We also tried the chicken and potatoes and they were delicious. The atmosphere is lively and authentic, and the service was very friendly. If you are looking for a classic meal, this is the place to go.

We made a reservation through Instagram DM, and even though we arrived about 10 minutes late because we took the wrong train, the owner welcomed us warmly.
We ordered the 1.2 kg T-bone steak, a salad, potatoes, and a half-bottle of wine.
The steak was seasoned perfectly and tasted great. The salad wasn’t anything special, but it paired well with the meat. The potatoes came out as fries, which was a bit disappointing at first, but they were actually addicting once we started eating. The wine also matched the steak very well.
The atmosphere was a bit lively and noisy, but it added to the local charm. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the food and the service. We would definitely come back.

Came here on a whim one afternoon without a reservation and the host was generous enough to find me a place to eat. The place was busy, and after eating here I understand why. Dishes here are simple yet well-prepared and seasoned (a highlight of my meal was the fagioli: the beans were cooked to perfection). Great wine too. Get a table if you can!

We made our reservations two solid months before we arrived in Florence and its a good thing that i did. In his confirmation reply, he suggested that I remind him a few days before and cautioned me not to be late or I would risk losing my spot. I reminded him 4 times. When we got there he pointed to the sign that said they were booked for the day and we were 10 minutes early! So I reminded him that I made reservations 2 moths ago. He stopped and said, “Are yiu Michael?” “Yes, I am!” He shook my hand and welcomed us in happily and sat us at a table. Bistecca alla Fiorentina is legendary and Trattoria Mario is the place to go for it. The hand cut and chop the bone to order. You can hear the ckeaver hitting that bone because the kitchen is semi open. You can see and hear and smell what is going on in there. You order, they bring out that raw porterhouse, 1 kg or 2.2 pounds, I approved it and 10 minutes later we were eating the best piece of beef that I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly rare! Delicious and definitely worth the 2 month reservation. We planned our activities in beautiful Florence around this perfect meal! Thank you, Mario and staff!

The food is good but I had better fiorentina. Service is good and quick like they are ready to send you out for next customer. It’s not a place you sit down and enjoy meal. It’s more like you sit and have a quick meal in my opinion

We reserved a table through the number which was in their instagram and the food was ready in just 10 min, although it was raw inside but it melted as soon as you put it in your mouth. The best dish that I have ever had in italy. We took potatoes and salad for side and everything was so delicious and perfect with reasonable price. Incredible hole-in-the-wall with authentic food and experience. We had the bolognese and Florentine steak. The pasta sauce was incredible – such a rich flavor. The steak was perfectly seasoned, if a bit on the rare side. We were lucky to get in for lunch without a reservation. It’s not a big place, and the waiter said they are always full. We would definitely come back the next time we’re here.

We had a 1.3kg bone in for 4. At €70+, you have a heart serving of a very good steak. However, if you like your meat medium, this is not the place. The cut was around 1.5 inch thick. While it had a good char, much of the center was raw. I would much prefer it not so thick and I get an even amount of charred and raw meat.
