The place is a must try when in the area! They’re good at what they do. The ravioli was amazing, it’s homeade fresh pasta. The pizza was great. They also sell great tasting cocktails, and the chocolate mousse was delicious. Service was also great. We enjoyed it so much we went twice during our visit to Cabo. 10/10!

We visited this Italian restaurant hoping for an authentic experience, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. The chicken Parmesan came out extremely overcooked—dry and tough rather than tender—which was quite a letdown. It didn’t come with pasta, so we asked for a side of fettuccini and made it clear we were happy to pay extra in addition to keeping the asparagus it was supposed to come with. Despite that, they just swapped the asparagus for the fettuccini, which was frustrating.
Service was mediocre at best, especially considering there was only one other table in the restaurant. To top it off, we were charged nearly $8 usd for a side of Gorgonzola sauce and $5 usd for a bottle of water which seemed excessive.
Another thing to note- I understand it’s very hot this time of year but the restaurant was uncomfortably warm, with only two floor fans running. There were also flies buzzing around our table/food/faces…
On a positive note, the wine was quite good and the fettuccini was homemade and tasty. Overall, one star experience with a hefty price tag.

One of the best impulse decisions I’ve made. As an Italian, it was that point on every trip where homesickness and the desire for a meal reminiscent of home overtakes you. Last minute, we switched our reservation from seafood to Pietro’s, and I couldn’t be more glad.

The food was incredible, the staff was incredibly friendly, and Pietro really works hard to take care of customers. He personally greeted/talked to most of the tables.

The ambiance is very well done as well. Tasteful, great live music.

Onto the food itself:

The burrata was a touch cold when served, but lovely and creamy after a few minutes, and the cherry tomatoes were very high quality.

The gnocchi are a must. Large, soft potato pillows in expertly cooked sauce.

As for dessert, the tiramisu was proper, but the panna cotta was a highlight for me. The contrast of acid in the sauce and creaminess of the panna was lovely.

The selection of Italian wines is truly incredible and I encourage you to go off the beaten path. Get something different than you typically do.

The espresso was quite literally my only complaint, as it was a little overextracted, but honestly still the best one I had in cabo.

Overall, I highly recommend this place, it’d be good italian food even in Verona, so finding it in Mexico was lovely.

This was actually at the steak place which is a few doors down from the trattoria however since Google is missing the place I am adding it here for now. Awesome place and reasonably priced. They do charge for water in case you care but they are good ones.

Great Food, Service, and Conversation

Trattoria Da Pietro takes me back to our vacations in Italy. Where the best restaurants are located in the neighborhoods with produce coming from the local market and typically close to or adjoined to a deli. Trattoria Da Pietro is no different, nestled on the edge of a growing neighborhood, Pietro has captured the essence of Italy. The food brings all the taste of Italy while infused with flavors from the Baja. The community and tourists, who chose to step away from their resorts, enjoy a spectacular meal, and waitstaff who assist to make sure you enjoy your selection.

Music is background, not the forefront. You can sit and hear conversations taking place at each table, staff engaging to assure patrons are taken care of. While Pietro strolls through the restaurant not interrupting, assisting staff where needed, wether it be with food delivery or clearing a table to prepare the patron for their next serving. Stopping briefly to participate in the conversations when invited.

We have been following Pietro ‘s restaurants throughout the Cabo area since his arrival. This year was no exception. We went twice once as a couple the second time with close friends. Trattoria Da Pietro by far surpasses his former restaurants. It truly deserves to bare his name.

Finally, a 100% true Italian restaurant in Cabo San Lucas! Pietro has been a pillar in the Italian community here for years, and now it’s his time to shine! Everything from the service, cocktails, wine, atmosphere, and food are absolute perfection. We started with the burrata caprese, I had the mussels with sausage, and my husband had the short rib with a side of penne. Delicious! Located in Plaza Novva, right behind costco on the street level in the right corner

Welcome to the neighborhood.
We have been following Pietro and his restaurants for over 12+ years in Cabo. He brings with him his passion for authentic Italian food as a 3 RD generation Italian Restauranteur. Now he is home. Just like in Italy, the best restaurants are found in the neighborhoods.
His food is flavorful beyond words. Trattoria Da Pietro’s opened in December 2021 and is already operating as if it has been in the neighborhood for years. Staff, Irving, Leo and others are tentative and pleasant to talk with. The Chief has been personally trained by Pietro so wether it be pasta, beef, seafood or a decadent dessert you know the flavors and quality will transport you to Italy. I look forward to many more visits, wether it be me and my husband, o with a group of our friends, old and new.

We met Pietro before as he was working at another place in Cabo. He amazed us with his attentiveness and wonderful wine suggestions. It was a surprise for us to learn that Pietro had opened his own restaurant. The experience exceeded all our expectations. It was like an oasis of Italy in Cabo! Food is outstanding, service is very personable and you truly feel yourself as a patron of the place. Highly recommended!
