Visited Trattoria Amalfi last night 11/20 – party of 6. We arrived at 6PM w/ a reservation. We were seated immediately; however, the waitress did not bring waters or welcome us until 6:25. We were also seated in the far corner – for 5 adults and 1 child, it was a tight fit.
Pros –
– Food was delicious.
– Accepted a last-minute reservation for 6 people.
Cons –
– It was one person’s birthday, and they charge $3 a person to bring in cupcakes. (Even though we were going to spend well over $250 for the evening.) We opted not to bring cupcakes. (Every other restaurant we asked said there was no charge.)
– I told the waitress it was my Mother’s birthday (twice) and she failed to bring a slice of cake for her. Maybe she didn’t get the hint? Or didn’t care to do so – even though the table next to us received a birthday cake. (We would have paid for it too.)
– Service was slow – never checked on us after we received our meals and there were things we needed – refills and napkins. (Never got them.)
– They do not have a children’s menu. For an order of chicken fingers and French fries, you are charged for an adult chicken parm.
– Two of us got a tonic water with cranberry – tonic was flat – asked for another one to made and the tonic was still flat. If your going to charge $3+ for a drink, make sure your tonic isn’t flat.
For the amount of money, you spend to go here, the service makes the experience extremely disappointing. This restaurant is money hungry. There are a lot of other Italian restaurant options within a 15/20 minute drive – please make your customer experiences a little more….customer friendly.

We had a wonderful dinner with friends – seated in a very private booth. It was an enjoyable dinner, and the drinks were great! The only issue was parking, which was tough to come by due to the high snowbanks taking up lots of spaces. We strongly suggest reservations!

My friend’s and I ate here last weekend party of 5. The service was friendly and helpful. The food came out nice and hot rather quick after ordering. It was so delicious! This place is a hidden treasure.

Great spot for a date or family dinner. Came here a year ago for my birthday, and it was lovely. A bit more on expensive side, but worth it. Atmosphere is nice too!

Nicely decorated restaurant, friendly service and excellent food. I had the veal marsala and it was very good. My friend had the stuffed pork chops and they were also very good. Price was moderate. I would eat here again.

As I was reading prior Yelp reviews from being out of state, I decided to look into Trattoria Amalfi and try it out. Ambiance overall was outstanding, coming into a side of little Italy. The service was outstanding my server was absolutely phenomenal checking on me and making sure I was doing okay. I had come at a rough time where there were 5-6 larger parties. I myself being a party of one. I had waited over an hour and a half for my meal, completely understandable. It’s not my first rodeo in fine dining restaurants. Went to use the restroom hoping to be able to have my food come out by that time. I ordered the Chicken Amalfi. I was not pleased with the presentation. The mushrooms were sautéed perfectly, texture, and flavor. The pasta was very greasy and way too tender and soft. The breaded “stuffed” chicken came out fresh, hot, and tender but due to the lack of flavor from the chicken itself and I don’t know if I’d even call it stuffed myself as to how small the stuffed portion was along with I had to eat all the way to the half part of the chicken in order to reach the “stuffed” section. A few couple bites into the meal all I feel is my blood pressure shoot through the roof from all of the sodium. Tried putting Parmigiano Reggiano on the pasta yet still lacking flavor. I tried to eat as much as I could to not be rude about my meal but even then it was too much too handle. I could’ve called it quits in the beginning but that would look as if I didn’t even remotely touch my plate. Due to the long wait time for my food (which again is understandable due to larger parties) I had to bring my server over to talk to me privately and let them know that genuinely I was displeased with the satisfaction and overall experience I had endured. They had told me they would talk to management to see what they could do to help my experience. Sitting for about 10 minutes with a grease full stomach and boiling blood pressure. My server came back over very politely and apologized for my experience. Then proceeded to sit the check on the table, yet no complimentary discount or even a complimentary dessert. Management had not even come over themselves to apologize. After paying for my bill and tipping my server very graciously, I proceeded to head to my car where I had thrown up inside of my mouth on the way out from the dish itself. I do not think it is a terrible dish. As I had told my server there needs to be something robust inside of the dish itself to really capture its true form. As I had gotten home I had thrown up in my toilet due to an upset stomach still even after it all. I decided to call the restaurant and speak to the manager myself directly. I had explained in full as to why I was displeased with my meal and upset with how the after care of the service was handled by management. Here is where we are at now. I hope that people know and understand I have no vendetta against this place staff or management and I had tried one of their many selections that they have to choose from but my experience was genuinely awful. I recommend to choose something other than the Chicken Amalfi, until they have readjusted the recipe itself. $40 later, an upset stomach, and very displeased with the management. Service was excellent.

First time here…Went for date night on a Wednesday. We had a reservation & arrived early, but were greeted & seated right away. Our waitress was wonderful & attentive. They give you bread & water of course. We started with a bottle of wine & split antipasto. Loved everything in it but the tuna – but that’s just personal preference, nothing wrong with it. We didn’t finish everything – it was generous. Our meals were delicious and portions were LARGE – we both had leftovers. My dish was probably 3 portions for me. I love how they bring a dessert tray so you can see exactly what you’re getting instead of being disappointed. The restaurant was completely full (as were our bellies) when we were left so I definitely recommend reservations. This is my new local fave Italian place & we will definitely be back!

It’s in an older shopping center and doesn’t look like much from the outside. But the moment you step inside, it is beautiful. It was packed so I sat at the bar and the bartender (Craig) took excellent care of me. I ordered the Jerry Jumbo and a glass of red wine. The food was AMAZING (OMG the spicy pink sauce is incredible), the atmosphere is awesome, alcohol selection is fantastic. If I lived here I’d eat here all the time, unfortunately I’m only in town for work.

One of my favorite places to go. Be sure to say hello to Craig at the bar. He makes amazing drinks and treats his customers at the bar like VIP’s.
