Trattoria 4 Leoni is a typical Tuscan restaurant located in the centre of Florence between Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti, in one of the historical piazzas of Florence, Piazza della Passera. We serve a typically Tuscan cuisine made up of seasonal dishes prepared using genuine raw materials, but our menu could never be without the great classics like bistecca alla fiorentina (T-bone steak), tripe, ossobuco (braised veal shank), a fried chicken, rabbit, and vegetables platter, stewed beans, baccalà codfish, and grilled octopus, or the bread soup pappa al pomodoro, oven-baked lasagne, taglierini with white truffles, and our famous pear-stuffed pasta in a sauce of taleggio cheese and asparagus.

This restaurant was recommended by our AirBNB. It did not disappoint! The server and the owner were very personable and made our visit very enjoyable. The suggested meals and wine were perfectly matched. We couldn’t decide if we wanted raspberry or chocolate topping for our cheesecake, so she brought both. We were told it was, “The best cheesecake in the universe!” And it definitely was The. Best. Cheesecake. In. The. Universe!!! Wow! Everything was delicious! Highly recommended!

I’ve eaten at Leoni many times I we a decade and each time it provides the traditional Florentine dining experience I prefer. It’s tucked away in a small square where you can escape the throngs of visitors, though not completely, but that’s a good thing.
The dishes are hearty and fairly priced, especially given the popularity of the place. I love the pumpkin ravioli and the tagliatelle and if I have room for dessert I take from their many choices.
The staff is quite friendly and attentive, signaled by the warm blankets provided for outdoor diners.
I passed my “quarto” visit to 4 Leoni long ago, and will keep adding to the tally for many more happy visits there.

Such a great experience at Trattoria 4 Leoni. We dined outside and everything was fantastic. Great food and wine from start to finish. The zucchini flowers were a perfect starter, followed by the delicious pear and Gorgonzola pasta. The breaded veal was excellent, and we somehow squeezed in the cheesecake for dessert, which was totally worth it. Loved it all and would definitely recommend.

The restaurant is located on a very charming small square. We came for lunch and were definitely not disappointed. We started with a local cheese selection, and all of the cheeses were spectacular.
For the main course, we had fiocchetti con pera and lasagna, accompanied by vino della casa (Pinot Grigio). Both the pasta and the lasagna were very good, and the service was friendly and attentive.
Overall, if you are looking for very good food in Florence at a fair price, this is the place to go

This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Best steak. Ever. Friends highly recommended this place, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything was fantastic — our server Alfonso (I hope I’m spelling that right!) was friendly, charismatic, and prompt. Don’t bet on New York cheesecake being better than theirs… you’ll lose that wager! Absolutely superb. Many people tried to get in while we were there, but it was fully booked, so I strongly recommend reserving well in advance. We’ll definitely be coming back on our next visit to Florence.

The food is spectacular. We ordered the pear flakes in taleggio sauce and asparagus, the pumpkin ravioli, and the lasagna and honestly they were all fantastic, especially the pumpkin ravioli. However, our waiter was extremely rude. He commented that three pastas were too much and we said it’s fine, we want them. Then when dessert came he was rude again when we ordered a tiramisu to share. Finally we get the bill and we pay cash, he rips the cash from our hands and leaves. Extremely rude and off putting. The judgment was unnecessarily and his behaviour was unwarranted as we were kind and polite.

We had the famous Florentine bistecca — it was absolutely delicious! It had been recommended to us by people who had visited Florence several times, and it truly lived up to the praise.
The vegetables and potatoes were tasty, well-seasoned, fresh, and juicy. The classic tiramisu was also delicious, and the service was very friendly.

I highly recommend 4 Leoni! The service is great, the atmosphere is nice, but the real reason to come here is for the pear pasta!! I was a bit skeptical of the sweet with salty combination but oh man, it was one of the best things I’ve eaten all year! It’s so creamy and not overly sweet but definitely has a strong pear flavor and paired with the asparagus it is just divine! This is a must try if in Florence! The rest of the dishes are very good as well, but nothing else stood out as much as the pear pasta! The 4 Leoni salad was also very delicious and it was nice to have some greens for once on vacation! Service was great and I can’t wait to return next time I am in Florence!
