Excellent sushi & atmosphere! We go here at least once a week to enjoy their amazing sushi/nigiri. Our classic combos consist of getting miso soup, cucumber salad, gyoza, and then switch back and forth between many of their rolls. While their sushi counter can get busy, generally it is pretty quick to get a table in the rest of the restaurant (recognize some exception for prime dinner time on Fridays and such). Love that there is a reward program as that just sweetens the deal to keep going back.

have visited this sushi place with my family many times and have had many great memories here. However, today’s experience was extremely disappointing.
The quality was unacceptable. The rolls were so soft and poorly made that they completely fell apart when I tried to pick them up with chopsticks. On top of that, there was far too much rice in the rolls. Instead of enjoying the flavors of the ingredients, it felt like I was just eating a mouthful of plain rice.
We used to enjoy coming here as a family, but after today’s visit, I am honestly very disappointed. It seriously needs improvement.

I usually don’t go to trappers cause I think it’s over rated American sushi but I went cause of my friends, and it’s always the mid sushi, got a Seahawks roll, my friends got sushi as well and the first bite we took I could tell right away the rice was so dry and hard, same as my friends sushi, it’s rather sitting too long in the pot or undercooked rice…. And the chicken yakitori was not as good, sauce just come right off, and the texture was slimy and bouncy, waitress didn’t even asked how our food was and have to ask the person who brought our food for our edamame to come out

Our fabulous server Hailey made our experience just wonderful!! . The yacht #1 was beautifully presented and generous. All the items were just fabulous. The service was superb. The food was fabulous. We would give it two stars for atmosphere as the cement floor did not mix well with the scraping of chairs. I could only imagine how loud the restaurant would be if it was on a super busy night. It’s unfortunate that the acoustics were not taken into account in the design of this place. I would definitely come back for the food, but not sure if the constant chair scraping would be a dealbreaker. Thank you for an overall great experience!!

My husband and I would regularly visit the Trappers in Puyallup. We would go there to celebrate accomplishments, nurse our disappointments, visit with friends and take family from out of town. Good days, bad days and everything in between. The trump roll was my husbands go to roll and I still crave the marvelous! The sea monster mai tai was always incredible as well as their local beer selection. My favorite servers were always Sandy and Rachel! Now, sitting on the other side of the US, I am desperately missing my go to Puyallup sushi spot. So Trappers… when are you branching out to the east coast? I need some good sushi!

I have had bad experiences at Trapper’s, but more often than not, it’s been pleasant. This trip was probably the best I’ve had.
I don’t usually get to do lunch here, but this was relaxing, delicious, the food came out looking and tasting great. It wasn’t crowded and even those that were here we pleasant to be around.

The host started is off right by clearing places for us to eat at the sushi bar. Our server, Cynthia, was quick and did a great job getting my daughter her meal off the kid’s menu quickly. Cynthia provided very friendly service. The all you can eat was delicious!! Curtis was fast at making our sushi orders and they were all delicious! Oishi desyo!!

Dad and I stopped in for lunch. Appetizers were 50% off, so we tried out a few things. We enjoyed the Sushi tacos with tuna and Gyoza (not in photos). Seaweed Salad, California Rolls ( not appetizer) and the Vegetables Tempura were good. The staff was wonderful

Trapper’s was a disappointing experience for several reasons.
From the beginning, the service was not good. The waitress did not offer us any drink options; less than a minute after we sat down, she asked what we wanted to drink. It was our first time there and we were not familiar with the menu at all. My husband asked about beers, and she gave him some options but never asked what size he wanted and simply brought him the large one. Later, when we checked the menu online, we realized there was another size available.
As for the food, my husband’s dish was fine, but the salmon was so slippery that it was hard to pick up. I ordered a dish called Samantha, which was very greasy. I thought it would be good, but it did not meet my expectations. We also ordered an Alaska roll, which was basically a cone of rice wrapped in nori seaweed.
Overall, my husband and I left very unhappy with the service and with certain aspects of the food.
