Small place. Great for a quick lunch! We had the fish tacos, pastor tacos and chicken tacos. Everything was amazing. The bathrooms were clean and the service was nice. We will definitely be back!

The food was amazing! The tacos, rice, and beans were absolutely delicious and truly reminded me of my mother’s cooking — full of flavor and made with love. It felt like a taste of home. To make it even more special, I found out that my parents and the owners are from the same part of Mexico. That connection made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, homemade Mexican food!

I live in Houston, but I come to Dallas several times per year and I always drive out of my way to come to Tranky’s. Their taco’s are fantastic. My favorite is the Barbacoa, followed by the Al Pastor, Carnitas, and Steak Fajita. If you love guacamole, you absolutely must get it!
The Service matches the food, and the owner is always on site and greets people by name. There are so many regulars it seems like he knows everyone.
If you love tacos like I do, you will not be disappointed with the short drive to Garland to sample these.

This is the go to spot anytime I am in the area. The owner is kind and gracious with his time. I always see him cleaning up, talking to customers, taking people’s trash for them.
The food is great and the chips and salsa are fantastic. They serve warmed salsa with that perfect not so hot you cant eat it but warm enough you dont want to stop.
Ive tried all the meat and… its just good food!

Update for 2025: STILL INCREDIBLE. if i had to choose only one place to eat out for the rest of my life (and it was not so far), I’d choose this place.
Phenomenal food with exception service. The fish tacos were out of this world, and the guacamole comes close to what I make at home. My husband said his 3 taco plate was good. My son and I are super picky when it comes to food, and this place blew us away. Highly recommend. Clean tasting and fresh food. Amazing flavors. Will definitely return.

Update- have been a few more times since my first visit. It’s now my favorite taco place. They have 3 amazing salsas- try the fire roasted tomato – so flavorful. Burgers, fish tacos, gorditas, tacos- all increíble. Everything is homemade. Service is excellent as well and every time we’ve been the staff is welcoming and kind. All of the meat taste like they was made and prepared with LOVE. Al pastor, barbacoa, picadillo-all juicy, tender and comforting. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Highly recommend the handmade and hand ground corn gorditas- amazing!! The crispy and chewy combo is to die for. Tacos also delicious. I do wish they had a salsa cremosa- like the guacamole salsa. Their tomatillo salsa is tasty as well as the chile de árbol. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was packed at lunch time, midweek. Clean bathrooms and dining area. Will be back!

This family owned gem hits it on all cylinders! In the nation’s top 20 taco spots & #2 in the DFW, I was very well pleased with the food. The staff made us feel like family. What was cool was another 1st time family was dining in as well. The commonality was how excited we’re about the taste of the tacos.

I was in this part of town and am ALWAYS looking for the hidden taqueria so I noticed this place and figured I would stop in and give it a try. Let’s just say, I am GLAD I did!!
A little tough to get to and dining room is a little small but during lunch I was able to get a seat.
Ordered chips and queso. Great flavor, a little on the runny side but not a deal breaker.
Ordered taco platter with Chicken, El Pastor and barbacoa. Also had to try homemade Gordita. Got pastor on that one.
Every meat was FRESH. Tortillas were fried perfectly, not soggy. I’m a sucker for a good sauce and their habenero sauce was amazing. The juice from the meat, combined with their sauce drowned in your mouth and throat.
This was so good I asked to talk to manager and turns out he was the owner! Such a nice guy! Family owned and operated and it shows that they all take pride in their food. Next time I’m in Dallas, this is where I’m bringing everyone. Great job guys!!
