If you love Russian food, this is the place for you. They have traditional Russian food and other eastern European dishes. It can get crowded so make a reservation. Parking is easy, the have metered parking right in front.

The place is just beautiful and calm. It is quiet and romantic, or you can bring your kids. There are white table clothes on all tables and this place is super clean. There is room between the tables so you don’t hear the people next to you.

The service is perfect, they are all very kind and will check on you and help you with the menu. They are just super nice.

The prices are fair for what I consider a fine dinning eatery.

Al of their food is great and you get a good portion. We love their salads, try the Kubnsky salad or the Darnitsky sky salad, they are so fresh and packed with flavor.

Their Traktir cutlet is so great. They have wonderful sides, their starter caviar is great. Their desserts are the best so save room and have a wonderful night.

Fantastic service and great food! This review is specifically for a private party. We just hosted my husband’s birthday here in their private room. It’s a hidden gem ! The decor and atmosphere is festive and cozy at the same time. The service was wonderful. Nastya was our main host and her entire team did their best to make sure and our 30+ guests were comfortable. Food was delicious and just enough. It was so easy to work with Rina (restaurant owner) on the menu choices, she had wonderful suggestions and guided me to a perfect menu for our guests. The appetizers that everyone loved were the deviled eggs, carpaccio , and seared fish. The must to order hot entrees are chicken blinchiki and lamb chops. The servers and kitchen coordinated well with the food coming out at different times, it was the perfect flow. And they nicely packed up the leftover food for us! It was also so fun dancing to the DJ in the main room while we also had the option to play our own music in the private room. Successful birthday, thank you Traktir!

This restaurant is expensive, and we did not order entrees. However, it was well worth the splurge. I am a gourmet cook & Foodie of Ukrainian heritage, so I was familar with much of the cuisine. The atmosphere decorated in a cross-beamed room with overhanging ferns & flowers & a harth, as well as lines of charming Matroishka nesting dolls, & lovely lace curtains was transportive! We were a party of two who decided to order a selection of small dishes. We ordered a cold, meatless Borscht which was very refreshing. Next time we plan to try the hot Borscht & a smoked soup. The Beef Pellmeni were served with Sour Cream, & they were delicious. My husband enjoyed the Kachipuri more than I as (rather than Cheesiness) it felt a bit like an Omelette in texture, & I am not fond of Eggs. The Cheesy toast (Gruyere?) alongside the Borscht was devine, & the Kachipuri would do well to be less Eggy & more richly Cheesy in taste & Texture. The Peiroshki were small & okay, but I was expecting more of the Bready type of Piroshki which I’d traditionally enjoyed before. Of the three types, we enjoyed the more seasoned Cabbage variety the most. The drink made from boiling dried fruits called “Compote” was a standout for us both. It was fruity without being too sweet, & it was addictive. We were surprised to see a Seafood salad made with imitation Krab & Asian seasonings as it seemed really out of place & unneccesary on a Ukrainian Menu. The dessert choices seemed meager & limited. It seemed that that list would benefit from perhaps two more desserts featuring fruit. Apfel Shtrudel for one with Freshly-Whipped Cream. We will absolutely come again & try things we did not order the first visit!

Absolutely amazing! I had shuba, Julien and Solyanka and just could not stop eating! All servers are friend in Russian which is important for ambiance imho. I’ve seen before when guests ask what is that and American servers have no idea!

I ordered 4 containers of the borscht soup to go and what a disappointment! The soup was old! The beef was old, over cooked, and had lots of hard cartridge. Three of the 4 containers had no potatoes. The soup was not hearty and was thin. The cheesy toast is not necessary or memorable. I spent $56.00 on the 4 containers of soup and if I could return my purchase I would.
I’ve been to the West Hollywood location and the food there is fantastic. Clearly both locations do not have the same recipes or quality control.
My advice, go to the West Hollywood location or don’t go at all. The Tarzana location is going down. There’s no customers, the place is empty, and now I see why.
The wait staff was friendly and nice.

It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Good service! The borscht is a must try, it was hands down my favorite! The different flavored vodkas are awesome. If you don’t know which to try get the flight! The golubtsy is another favorite. It reminded me of meatloaf wrapped in cabbage. If you’re looking for authentic Russian food, this is your place.

Very lovely restaurant with many menu choices and great service. We had delicious lamb lula kebabs, sturgeon, chicken blintzes, my husband tried horse radish vodka and enjoyed it. For dessert we had napoleon, cherry vareniki and tea. Definitely coming back. Just one little note it would be nice to have some type of soft music in background. My friends come here very often and all agree music is missing. Thank you for everything. Coming back soon.

Loved the russian food here. Sashlik, olivier, shuba, lamb. Great taste and well cooked-medium was a true medium cook. Fair service and a full bar. Glad we went. Could’ve used a better atmosphere to male the nite more traditional.
