Great Reuben for $12 — stacked corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, melted Swiss, and rye toasted just right. Classic and delicious!
• One of the best Reubens I’ve had — generous, flavorful, and a great value.
• If you love a good Reuben, this one hits all the marks. Fresh, hearty, and satisfying!
Shoutout to the kitchen for this amazing Reuben — everything was spot on, and it tasted homemade but better. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is doing a really great job — the sourdough bread alone deserves a shoutout! Fresh, flavorful, and the perfect base for their sandwiches. You can tell they put care into every detail.

Stopped here in search of fancy coffee and they had just regular drip coffee. However the incredibly friendly and helpful staff recommended a variety of local options. We went and found our fancy coffee, and decided to come back to Trail’s End for lunch.
The sandwich (BLT) and soup (Dill Havarti type thing) were AWESOME. Food was excellent, staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful, prices were very reasonable!
Flawless execution guys, keep up the good work! We’ll see you next time we sail through Ludington!

Going to Trails End Baking Company was a wonderful experience. My husband and I tried many different items (our favorite was the Bavarian cruffin and the coconut cream pie) and the Ludington sourdough was also delicious. We will definitely have to come back again sometime! Highly recommend!!

I have been to Trail’s End at least 6 times thus far. They continue to add to the ambiance, the atmosphere, the menu, etc. and everything has simply been great; each and every time.

This little bakery cafe is a gem. The Breads are amazing. Bread tastes like bread should, not the over processed and preservative filled store brands. The pies are delicious flavorful and like they were made in the past. They are a bakery that offers great quiche and some wonderful sandwiches. The decor is a nod to the great National Parks the US offers. A fun place to see.

At 25 years old Chef Cody has taken a well loved Ludington business and is trying to make it his own. It seems from most of these reviews, that there are some trolls in the mix. Please disregard the lower reviews and give this new business a try. Chef Cody has a PASSION for baking and it shows in his goods. Check out the quiche Lorraine, a Crescent Moon Croissant Sandwich with homemade croissants (not bulk buy from a box store!) He also makes his own Ludington Sourdough Bread and a yummy Cheddar Jalapeño or Asiago Loaf. As with any new business there will be changes. Smart business owners start small and manageable then grow into larger businesses with time. Support a young entrepreneur by stopping in for a fresh baked good and form your own opinion. Congratulations on making your dream a reality Chef Cody! Put your Faith in your skills and the Lord and He will sort it all out in the end.

Unimpressed is what I have to say. My wife and I have been Ludington residents most of our life but moved out in the last few years to Oregon so we were unaware of the new ownership at this establishment. My wife and I are quite open minded and were excited to see what it had been turned into. New ownership brings unique obstacles and Trails End is still in the process of trying to overcome them. We were given a buzzer to let us know when to grab our food and instead of it going off, we were brought our food instead. No issue with the buzzer system but quite confused why we were given a buzzer and if this place is trying to be a bakery or if it’s trying to be a restaurant. We were not given silverware either and I was told the silverware was right where I was supposed to pick up my plate.. confused again because I was just given my plate at my table. Silverware should have been a covered basis, but the employees seemed to not care that much about it. Food was subpar and we will not be coming back unless this place can figure out what it is doing. Pry won’t be for another five years or if someone else buys it and turns it into a functionally running business before then.

Always a great time at Trail’s End. The employees and owner are very friendly and open to any feedback; Addy is a great server. They offer some staple sandwiches like their Reuben that taste amazing as well as an option to build your own cold sandwich. Recently had one of their featured quiches, the Cordon Bleu, which was so fluffy and flavorful. The baked goods are fantastic, highly recommend their pumpkin pie and chocolate croissants. If you loved Chef John’s Dill Havarti, you must stop in for a cup as they still make it! Definitely worth a stop, dine-in or Togo available! I included a picture of their Chipotle Chicken sandwich with a basil pesto and chipotle mayo on top; packed with flavor and very filling.

I was really sad to hear about Chef John’s retirement because I knew that meant changes ahead for the restaurant, which was my favorite in town. I recently visited the new Trail’s End Baking Co. without expectation and was delighted. While I missed the charm of Chef John’s, I quickly grew to appreciate what the new owner has done with his new venture and I am absolutely thrilled for him! A new business is exciting and daunting but it appears that this young man is facing it with courage and tenacity and we are the blessed recipients of his dream coming to fruition. I’m glad to see they’ve held on to a few menu items (like the Dill Havarti soup and the Blackberry Bacon Grilled Cheese) but I’m also looking forward to trying the new things they’re creating.

We sailed into the Ludington Muni Marina and were weather bound for 2 days. This place is right at the entry to town and we absolutely loved it! The baked goods were delicious and hand made. The sandwiches were to die for. I had both breakfast and lunch here. We had a conversation with the chef and he seemed quitely proud of his creations; as he should be. The ONLY reason I gave the atmosphere rating a 4 star was as an encouragement to get some more comfortable seats so I could have sat and had coffee all day.
