We shared the ribs barbecue plate and it was perfect for two. The size of the sides and meat is very generous and yummy.
We picked potato salad and coleslaw were our sides and they were very good. Plate came with a delicious toast.
I want to highlight the barbecue sauce; it was not sweet and had a spicy kick. We loved it.
As now the place has a small room to dinning-in with two big picnic tables, and we had it to ourselves. It was clean and very comfortable.
Service was very friendly.

Avoid like the plague. I’m really not sure how anyone is leaving more than three stars. They must not have had a decent meal in their lives. I don’t think the brisket was even smoked. It’s like it was boiled. The Mac & Cheese was awful and the corn on the cob was even worse. Took one bite of each and that was it. Pulled pork sandwich is OK. Service from the old man owner was horrible. He’s rude for no reason. There are no bathrooms and it really isn’t even a restaurant since the only seating is outside.

This place must not want to be in business anymore by the way they treat their customers. Extremely grumpy man at the front, doesn’t deserve to be at the front, let alone have a job. barked at us 5 times about ordering when we just have never been there and didjnt know what we wanted. Food was great, but don’t expect to want to come back because of that guy. i’ll definitely be taking my business elsewhere

My hubby and I stumbled upon the Trading Post Smokehouse while riding to see fall foliage. We both had pulled pork sandwiches that were huge. They were so big that we would have been full splitting one. As sides, I had the potato salad and he had macaroni and cheese and both were very good. The sides portions were, also, large and neither of us were able to finish them. If you are in the area, I recommend giving them a try. They, also, sell some beautiful outside wooden furniture. I love the tall cypress gliders and am adding them to my list for Santa.

The man at the counter was rude and not friendly at all for seemingly no reason. Based on other reviews,it’s not just us. There is no public bathroom. So you have to drive to the nearest dollar general or gas station 6 minutes away. The macaroni and cheese was a watery nasty mess. Chicken was dry but guess that’s where the sauce comes in but still not great. The “dining area” is a little room to the side. The main area is not open. Just not a good place to stop as much as I wanted to like the place. It has all the workings to be a nice home country place but it’s just not. Wouldn’t recommend stopping here and we won’t go back.

Ordered ribs and brisket sandwich with sides. Servings were plentiful and food wasn’t bad. Greens tasted very similar to Glory brand greens and the potato salad was comparable to Yoder’s mustard potato salad. Ribs were good and fell right off the bone. No indoor seating available. Limited seating outside.

After a long morning of caving we thought BBQ sounded perfect…we were so incredibly disappointed. The macaroni and cheese was more like flavorless soup. The pulled chicken tasted boiled with no flavor. The collards were ok. I bought 3 different plates for my family & regretted each one.

We just love stopping by this smokehouse bbq restaurant for some always awesome food and BBQ sandwiches, especially after a simi-long drive down south to DeSoto Falls State Park in Alabama. The owner came outside to chatter with us as we ate so delicious house made coleslaw, chicken salad sandwich and a bbq brisket sandwich. Yummy yum stuff perfect for a winter day sitting in the sun as we’re making our way back north to Chickamauga. Highly recommend stopping in for some great food and fellowship!

Delicious brisket! OK, I gave atmosphere 5 stars because it is what I expected: pure Southern Smokehouse on the side of the road. As far from fancy as you can get and I loved it.

Avoid! I absolutely hate making this post but from a fellow guy who absolutely loves bbq, this place is absolutely unacceptable. whoever runs this place needs to revamp it BAD!
EVERYTHING tasted terrible. There’s no reason for the size of this place and the utilities they have to NOT be able to make great bbq. The coke and buttered toast was the best thing we had.

I see the property and the business is also for sale. Leads me to believe going out of business or hard-core struggling. Also there is no bathroom access or indoor seating and dogs barking inside (which may be health code violations im sure). However there is 2 picnic tables outside for outdoor seating/self serve in guess you’d call it. And then actual picnic tables out in the grass. But man this place sucked.

Im a HUGE bbq guy. This place surely wouldn’t be ran like this if I had the shot to handle it. What a shame. So much potential.
