Traders Seafood Steak & Ale is hands down one of my favorite places—I frequent often, especially for birthdays, celebrations, or when I just want to treat myself to great food in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
The drinks are always on point—my go-to is the Moscow Mule, served ice cold in a copper mug with the perfect citrus kick. It’s the kind of drink that sets the tone for a great night.
This time I started with a bowl of half Cream of Crab and half Maryland Crab soup, and it was everything. The creamy richness blended with the bold tomato-based flavor was the best of both worlds. And although not pictured, the crab balls were absolute perfection—crisp outside, packed with seasoned lump crab on the inside. No filler, just flavor!
I also had the steamed mussels in a garlicky butter broth—fresh, tender, and so good with the toasted bread. The seared ahi tuna with seaweed salad and crispy wontons was light, flavorful, and plated beautifully.
Whether I’m celebrating or just popping in for a good meal, Traders never misses. Amazing food, attentive service, and a chill vibe—this place will always be a favorite of mine. Highly recommend!
The food was delicious, I had the stuffed prawns, we were served by Susan who was the loveliest waitress we’ve had in a long time. Considering we had a 10-month baby, her along with all the staff were so lovely with us.
And they made it special for my birthday. I highly recommend stopping in here if you’re looking for a relaxed atmosphere, good food and an overall lovely dining experience
Terrible experience compounded by poor manager!
Local resident have enjoyed Traders but not this am when I took my son to breakfast.
I ordered eggs montoya I.e. Eggs benedict with fillet mignon in place of ham, well done fillet. When our orders came my fillet was blood red inside called waitress over showed her and she responded that’s definitely not well done and took it back. Mean time my son was 3/4 way thru his breakfast when My order came back so much for eatting breakfast together.
Upon cutting my breakfast up the WHITE of the poached eggs poured out this was an uncooked egg!!! I pushed the eggs off to side and tried to eat one of the fillets for a $19.00 breakfast menu I was disgusted called a near by server over ( ours was not nearby) and asked for the manager.
The manager came over I explained the issues twice having cooked problems with my order and noting my son was now done his breakfast. The manager ssid she would take it off my bill. Long story short When our server came back with bill and manager in tow the manager said, since you ate one fillet I have to charge you for half your breakfast! I said, I ordered eggs benedict not steak and eggs the waitress corrected me (insult to injury) saying you ordered eggs montoya not eggs benedict! REALLY, like I didn’t know that?
Then manager decided to tell me that the eggs I was served was what a poached egg looks like. Let me set the record straight I work in a culinary school kitchen font tell me the under cooked, possibly non/samanella carrying egg was done correctly.
So as not to belabor this ordeal the photos below are only the eggs wish I had the pics of the fillet to add!
To the owner of Traders this manager needs to more training in service and checking on her staff and I would suggest the waitress also needs some training.
This was definitely not the Traders experience I expected and the owner needs to look into their quality control as well as training of the employees!
For the untrained manager poached eggs should be: Correctly prepared Poached Eggs: Poached eggs should be cooked until the WHITE is set and the yolk is THICKENED but still SLIGHTLY runny. Under cooked poached eggs have a runny, whispy, white!

My daughter got the broiled sea food platter and I got grilled chicken breast with 3 side dishes and we shared. Food is very delicious and not very salty or spicy. Also the chocolate cake and the lemon cake are very good. Give it a try if you’re in the area!
The wings were “cooked to perfection” according to my husband and the prime rib he ordered made me a bit jealous that I didn’t order it.
The Rockfish bites were tasty and the scallops were perfectly cooked – and you get quite a bit too! More than what I’m used to because I couldn’t finish them! I didn’t need the appetizer, the main portions were plenty.
Excellent place for dinner!
(The outside is a bit older looking, but the inside looks like it had a recent reno, )
