The food was very good and the service was good too. I had the baked chicken leg quarter with fried cabbage and baked macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious. Loved the spinach and artichoke dip. A good place to go for a special night out.

Have been to this location multiple times when it was called Clarksville Station. Was weary when we heard the place had changed hands again because we had come after that had happened before and were sorely disappointed.
However, we decided to try it out. It was on December 20th because it was my father’s birthday. He had passed on back in 2024, but for his birthday and his wedding anniversary, my sister, brother-in-law, mother, and I try to keep the tradition of going out for dinner in honor of him. His favorite was Homestead (down the road) but with it being so close to Christmas, we knew Homestead would be a madhouse. We prefer to have quiet places to go out so that we can converse easily and typically have a better time. So we decided to try Trackside Tavern… and were pleasantly surprised.
The food was amazing. My mother even commented that it was better to her than Homestead. She got the country fried steak. I got the grilled shrimp and loved it, myself. The biscuits they serve before the meal could easily make you hurt yourself because they are delicious.
The atmosphere was perfect for us. There was a larger party in one of the sidecars but they were never too loud that we couldn’t talk easily.
Our server was great – she kept glasses checked and came by enough to be helpful but not so much as to be annoying. The only downside of our server is that she didn’t seem to have much of a personality. But I don’t know what kind of day she had had before, or what may have been happening in her life, so I don’t hold it against her…it could have just been an ‘off day’ for her.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience, great food, great atmosphere, great service. My mother has declared that this may be her new favorite place to go… and none of us would be opposed to obliging her.

I really liked the atmosphere. Dined on a Tuesday evening surely after they opened, so it was on the slower side. The waitress was very attentive, but not overwhelming. I had the fried pickles appetizer, grilled chicken sandwich with fries, and the honey bun cake for dessert. Appetizer and dessert was shared. The portion size for the appetizer was good for the price. Same with the chicken sandwich and fries. Plenty of food for the money. The grilled chicken sandwich was the best of these 3 items. Overall each could have used a little more seasoning. Pretty sure the fries didn’t have any seasoning, not even salt. The honey bun cake was OK. It hit the sweet notes, but underwhelming overall.
I would definitely give it another try to check their other options.

Food is fantastic, portions are best in class, service was some of the best I’ve had in years. My mother loved her birthday meal here and it was very special. We were treated as family
Small area of improvement: Mac and cheese is not the best. Plenty of better sides to choose from like sweet potato fries and okra.

If I could, I’d give this place a 3.5. The service was great — I never even had to ask for a refill, which was nice. Most of the food was good. The biscuits were really tasty and the sweet tea was perfect.
I got the fried shrimp and it was solid. For sides, I went with mac & cheese and corn. The mac & cheese wasn’t good at all — kind of dry and not much flavor. The corn was fine, but it was sweet corn, and I would’ve liked something more savory.
All in all, I’d come back again.

We heard about this place after we moved to the area and decided to give it a shot. Baby…BABY are we glad we did! Phenomenal. Phenomenal food and service. We ordered the ribeye steak. One medium and one medium well with baked potatoes. These steaks were so good we danced in our seats! We had to call our server over and asked her to PLEASE tell the cook thank you and how perfect he prepared our steaks. When we go out for steaks, this is what we want. Thank you all and we WILL be back.

Went to tavern for lunch today and it was such a pleasant surprise.!! Hubby got cheeseburger with the works and said it was one of the best he’s ever had and I had the BBQ which was quite tasty! Sides were good, service good and the ambiance was great – playing good music and such a nice clean, well-decorated facility. Another restaurant in Roxboro I can’t wait to return to.
